• ShegraduatedinMechanicalEngineering(beforeD.M.509/1999cameintoforce),summacumlaude, in 2003, at theUniversity of Calabria. The final dissertationwas about the numericalcharacterizationof the intake systemofahighperformances internal combustionengine,bytheCFDcommercialcodeFLUENT.

• In2010,sheattainedherPh.DdegreeinMechanicalEngineeringattheUniversityofCalabria.The research activity focused on the development of numerical techniques for thecomputation of complex flow involved in ships hydrodynamics. The title of the finaldissertation is "CFD Investigation of the Seakeeping Behavior of a Catamaran Advancing inRegular Waves by an Unsteady RANS Code ". ADVISORS: Prof. Ing. Sergio Bova-Dept. ofMechanical Engineering-University of Calabria; Prof. Ing. Frederick Stern - Iowa Institute ofHydraulicResearch,Iowa(USA).

• During the Ph.D., she spent 6 months in Iowa and collaboration with the Iowa Institute ofHydraulicResearch(IIHR-USA),wasundertaken.InIowashestudiedthenumericaltechniquesin thesimulationsofshipshydrodynamicsproblems,under thesupervisionofProf.FrederickStern.Thecollaborationisongoing.Sheisactuallyworkingonthevalidationofnumericalcodefor course-keeping simulations of high-speed multi-hull vessels, within research projectsfundedbytheU.S.NavythroughtheOfficeofNavalResearch.

• Since2010to2015,shecollaborated(coordinatefreelancecollaboration)withtheDepartmentof Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering (DIMEG)-University of Calabria. Theresearch activity focuses on the use and validation of numerical techniques for thecomputation of complex flow involved in ships hydrodynamics and Internal CombustionEnginesapplications. Inparticular, theactivity focuseson thehydrodynamic studyofmarinevehiclesinrealisticoperatingconditions,on1D/3Dnumericalanalysisoftheintakesystemofinnovative internal combustion engines and on the characterization of global efficiency andflow field analysis inside the combustion chamber. She is involved in a project with Elasis-Powertrain, for the development and assessment, by MATLAB-Simulink tool, of a zero-dimensionalmodel for internal combustionengines cooling systems, inpresenceofnucleateboiling.

• May 2014-July 2014: Visiting scholar at IIHR-IOWA INSTITUTE OF HYDRAULIC RESEARCH-UNIVERSITYOFIOWA-IOWA-USA.TheresearchactivityfocusedontheseakeepingbehavioroftheKCS(Kriso-ContainerShip).

• Actually she is research fellow at the Department of Mechanical, Energy and ManagementEngineering (DIMEG)-University of Calabria. She is involved in a project developed incollaboration with the Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research, IIHR-USA and regardsHydrodynamicstudyoftheKrisoContainership(KCS)underseakeepingconditions.
