HONDURAS MINISTRY SPRING 2011

News from Teresa Devlin a missionary with Commission To Every Nation

Everything works together for good for those who love God and are called according to His

purpose. A South American writer, Paulo Coelho, in his modern day language puts it in a way I

think is interesting: “When someone desires really something, positive in nature, with really

deep conviction, the entire universe is at the disposal of that person to fulfill that desire, that

dream…” Maybe case in point for this unique Honduras Ministry!

OVERALL

It has been a busy season. December through March. It came and went. A whirlwind of events.

Planning two mission trips into Honduras from San Antonio, Texas. Taking care of medical

appointments and treatments. Back in the mission field. It is amazing how time quickly goes by.

We are now poised for the next event, yet somehow not quite really ready mentally for the shifts

and changes that need to take place to get on to the next round.

TRINITY BAPTIST

We have seen moving miracles from God’s infinite, loving, merciful

beautiful Hand to us. A new church has come on board to help

shoulder the effort. The weight of this unique ministry, lovingly and

thoughtfully is being considered by a sister church. A win/win

situation has developed. Being “prepared”, the “opportunity” coming

to us seems so well matched.

Historically our ministry has been on fledgling status for some time. The new vistas have found

a strong platform where needs for multiple ministries can be developed. The need for a strong

musically gifted Conservatory of Music. The need for a strong, beautiful life phases orphanage,

where young children can come to receive the opportunity of a new life. A new life focused and

attentive to the grace received from Christ; the benefit of a life attentive to the freedom of the

shadow of sin. Educated and thus equipped academically and spiritually, the expectancy for

leadership and professional growth will be boundless. Thus the new opportunities!

DARWIN

Our in-house ten year student/professor is ready to move on.

Darwin has received a unique opportunity for continued

academic and spiritual growth, greater dimensions for further

education and leadership. We are gratefully holding our

hearts to this new venture in his life. We will see him return

to us in about three years, a fitful citizen to work in

Honduras with new outlook and strength.

ORPHANAGE

At the property of the orphanage, the fence will be completed this March. The new church group

will assess the site for a fourth cottage, estimating the material costs and labor which will come

to around $28,000. The new structure will be necessary to have the adequate space for the

children to begin entering the orphanage. These structures will form the first compound of

several others that eventually will house 200+ children on our 17 acre facility.

CONSERVATORY

The Conservatory has a record number of students. Eighty students enrolled this year. Several

of the violin students are turning out to be quite serious, enabling us to enroll them in our

existing growing chamber group. This year we also look forward to having our students

certified, giving them that extra richness to their music education.

The medical work up for my eyes, digestive and nervous

system has reaped great benefits. Thank God there are

meds today that address areas that are significant for

the extension of quality life. I appreciate so much that I

am surrounded by many friends who support that

extension of quality life. All, that I might be useful to

others a little longer. That is what is all about!

In parting, Spring Break found young students of Grace

Point Church of San Antonio, Texas, at the island of

Chachahuate here in the Caribbean doing wonderful

ministry to the Garífuna sub-culture. They were a complete

success and breathed new life into a hurting ministry on the island.

Thank you, thank you so very much for being the visionary partners we have and need! May

God continue to bless your lives and efforts for spreading His Kingdom. Even though you also

have a need, you extend yourselves to those with a greater need, attracting the promised blessing

of God! HE DOES WHAT HE PROMISES TO DO!!

Ever grateful missionary,

TERESA DEVLIN
