Transition, Kidson
CONGRATULATIONS TO Transition, Barbour &
3/4, Mortimore FOR RECEIVING THE
PRINCIPAL’S AWARD IN WEEK 6
Dear Parents and Carers, It was fantastic to see so many families come to the Early Achievement Centre ‘Alice in Wonderland’ tea party. It was a great way for our families to come together and meet other parents with children at Woodroffe Primary School. Please remember to notify the school if your child is absent. You can do this via our Skoolbag App, by phoning the front office on 8983 7600 or via email to [email protected]. Letters have been sent home for Student Led Interviews. Please return the slip at the bottom of this letter as soon as possible as popular appointment times fill quickly. A copy of the return slip is on the back of this newsletter. Student Led Interviews are a great way for your child to share with you what they have been working on in class and what their goals are for 2017. This is also a convenient opportunity to ask any questions or discuss any concerns that you may have with your child’s classroom teacher. As students in our Pandanus Unit attend a more in depth meeting each semester, Interviews will not be scheduled for them as they often require more time. Don’t forget next weekend there is a Neighbour Day ‘Family Fun Morning’ on the 26th of March at Hobart Park in Johnston from 9.00am to 11.00am. This is a wonderful event for families that are newly arrived to the Palmerston area or who are existing residents and is an opportunity to create new friendships. We value the safety of all of our students and their families. As such, please remember to use our crossing and to slow to 40km/h when travelling through our school zone. Have a safe and happy weekend,
Jill Pearce
Acting Principal
Woodroffe Primary School
Student Led Interviews Interviews will take place on
Tuesday, 28 March and Wednesday, 29 March.

The Miracle Goal
It’s three in the afternoon, three goals down, two minutes left. My name is Nathan Spry and
this is the miracle goal. The ball goes up we win the ruck, I’m centre halfback. I run through
the pack of players, I kick the ball and it’s a long kick and it’s a goal. “Good job son” says
dad. It’s back in the centre. The ruck goes up, we win again. A team mate picks the ball up,
he kicks it high and I come out of nowhere. I jump for the ball and it’s a massive specky.
“He’s on his shoulders!” someone screams at the back. I’m about 30 metres out, the siren
goes. I have to kick this goal or we’re not in the finals. I go for a torpedo, it’s going, it’s going,
it’s there and I win the game for the Buffaloes.
By Nathan Spry, M2
Don’t forget that the class with the highest overall attendance in week 5 to week 10, term 1 will win a Pizza lunch!
