Interest & Information

A Casket for YouDying is never our favourite topic of discussion, even though it is the most definite. Imagine if you could build and decorate your own casket over two days and have someone help you transport it to your home. In this two day workshop your casket begins as a blank canvass and you get to make it as fun or sombre, bright or calm as you want – whatever matches who you are and what’s important to you in life. Your casket, once made can sit comfortably in your home as a piece of artistic furniture, be used for storage, or as a place for you to stow your funeral wishes and directions such as a list of your favourite flowers and songs. Add a throw rug and a few cushions and it will blend right in – or become a talking point for some honest and heartfelt conversations. Your casket will come in a flat-pack that you can put together with our help and then decorate as artistically or fancifully as you like. You can use photos, paints, textas or whatever takes your fancy. Bring along your lunch, art materials of choice, sense of humour, and favourite hanky. Fee includes casket and transport.Saturday/Sunday 7 & 8 March 2020, 10am – 3pm, 2 Sessions$700 Flat pack casket $195 Class & amenity fee (including delivery)Facilitator: Jennie Barnes – Last Expressions
