Horses Make The Best Pets

I LOVE HORSES!!! My family owns 3 horses and we love

them all a lot. Horses are wonderful pets and I am posi-

tive that I can convince you.

Horses are great pets because you can ride them for

many different reasons like for fun, for work such as

mustering, or for sport. It is really fun horse riding.

Horses make the best pets because they help keep you fit

by you feeding them, cleaning their stalls and yards or

from riding them. So when you are exercising them

you’re getting exercise too!

Another reason that horses make the best pets is that they are very loving and my horse

loves company. He loves me and I love him.

Horses are great teachers. They can teach us patience, how to ride, not to be scared, how

to get stronger and they can teach us how to be a loving and caring animal owner. They

can also teach us veterinary skills like bandaging and giving medicine.

Horses make the best pets because they all have different personalities. Some horses are

cheeky like my sister’s horse, some are smart, some are sweet like my little brother’s

horse and some are sooky, like my horse, Rebel.

That is why I strongly believe that horses make the best pets. So, if you have enough

space for a horse you should go and buy one straight away. GO RIGHT NOW!

Hello From the Principal...

Remote education & Term 2 Thank you parents for your work around remote education at home for your children at this time. A special thank you to Mrs Slack-Smith, in her capacity as Curriculum Support advisor with the department, for working with all our staff, especially with our 4/5/6 staff, around online learning. This all started out as part of our Wet Weather Exemption plans and has quickly evolved into remote learning for students as well as our staff. BJPS’s PM, Elke, is very well organised with her work arrangements for remote learning. The majority of the staff are also working remotely from home and this will continue into Term 2. I will send out a number of docu-ments from the department with advice on how to proceed with remote learning for Term 2. If you require a desk at home for your child please email me directly so I can organise a school desk for your child to use at home. Hopefully the 20 new laptops and dongles with arrive for the start of Term 2 so that every child will have a laptop and internet access ready for their learning at home. Also, I have ordered enough melodicas for each child to have one at home so that you can all use them in the music lessons with Mr Carrett next term. Mr Car-rett has assured me that every child will be able to read and play music by the end of T2. I was contemplating recorders but then I thought about our wonderful parents and their ears! So melodicas won out! The children’s tote trays were brought in by Mr Stevens, Ms Kirstin and Mr Boughton today and they will be made ready for the children’s first day of learning in Term 2. More details to follow.

School Holiday Ideas from the NSW DoE The department has put up on their school site some great holiday ideas and some fantastic resources for you to access whilst following the current travel rules and in implementing social distancing. (See the link below.)

I really liked the Taronga Zoo link where you can access the zoo to see the daily lineups from the zoo allowing the children to see their favourite animals, meet friendly animal keepers and learn what goes on behind the scenes. Or join up to the Sydney Aquarium to get their newsletter with craft ideas and activities. Whilst the site offers lots of links to online resources there are also off line resources. What about stargazing, building a fort or going for a walk? “For those who can, spend some time every night having a look at the stars in the sky. Learn the constellations and the stories behind them, and learn about which planets can be seen in the night sky. There are also a variety of stargazing apps to help you with this.” “Make a blanket fort: An activity that never dates. By helping your child make a blanket fort you’ll provide them with hours of entertainment.” (Or even build a treehouse at home!) “At the moment you can still leave your home for exercise, so once a day or a few times a week go for a walk with your family. Be mindful of social distancing and only go with your immediate family.”
