Road Safety
It’s important to remind children, especially
younger ones, of the need to be vigilant
when out and about. Talk to your child about
road safety and model good behaviour
yourself. For lots of good safety reminders,
Kidsafe NSW has an informative website with
a number of free brochures and fact sheets
on maintaining a safe environment for your
child and teaching them about staying safe.
They are also available in several community
languages. www.kidsafensw.org
Dance at Bonnet Bay
Dance is well underway for 2019 and students
are enjoying working on their routines for up-
coming events. All dance lessons are held on
Wednesdays each week. Stage 3 from 8.20-
8.50am, stage 2 from 8.50-9.20am and Stage 1
at lunchtime from 11.35-12.05pm.
PSSA Each week students need to arrive at school by
8.30am for an 8.40am departure. Buses will re-
turn to school at 11.00am.
P&C News
At our first meeting this year we had funds
available to approve the purchase of new
resources for the school. Dash Robots, Lego
WeDo and a 3D printer were on the list of
exciting new resources for our kids!
Canteen is closed tomorrow, Wednesday 6th
March. We have only been able to get enough
volunteers to cover 3 weeks. If you are interest-
ed in covering as a one off on a Wednesday,
please let us know and we can arrange to
open on the additional day.
This year will be having meetings alternating on
a Tuesday and Thursday. We had feedback
that running on the same night there were
some people who were unable to attend due
to standing commitments. Our next meeting is
coming up on Thursday 14th March. Hope to
see you there.

MONEY COLLECTION PROCEDURES Please read below the procedures for
collection of payments from students.
Payments for excursions, sport, carnivals, fees,
etc:
A black secure ‘letter box’ is on the wall next
to the front office window.
All payments and permission notes, in an
envelope, should be placed through the slot. No money is collected by teaching staff.
One envelope can be used per family.
Please write on the front of the envelope:
- Student/s name/s and class.
- Details of what payment is for and the
amount for each item/s.
- Total amount of payment enclosed.
Enclose permission slips in the envelope – separate permission note for each child
please. Permission notes stamped ‘PAID’ will
be given to teachers after payment/s have
been processed, with receipts for distribu-
tion to students.
A due date for all payments is printed on the
notes sent home however, as has always
been our policy, if you should have difficulty
with making a payment by that date, please
advise the school and alternative arrange-
ments can be made.
Payment for an activity or excursion does not
constitute permission to participate.
Permission Notes are still required for rel-
evant activities.
Students should be encouraged to place
their payment envelope through the ‘Letter
Box’ on their arrival at school.
Cash & Cheque Payment Option
Cash or cheque can be placed in the family
envelope for all expenses. Cheques should
to be made payable to Bonnet Bay Public
School. Payments will be receipted against
your child’s account and a receipt will be
issued.
Parent Online Payment Option
We accept online payments via a secure
payment page hosted by Westpac. The pay-
ment page is accessed from the bottom of
the home page of the schools website
www.bonnetbay-p.schools.nsw.gov.au by
selecting $ Make a payment. Payments can
be made using either a Visa or MasterCard
credit or debit card.
Details of online payments are passed daily
to the school where they are receipted
against your child’s account. As a receipt
has been issued from the payment page a
further receipt will not be issued by the
school. It should be noted that if a payment
is made after 6.00pm the school will not see
that payment until the second business day.
Please do not process payments for the P&C,
P&C Fundraisers or Uniform Shop using the
Parent Online Payment system. Cash, cheque
(payable to Bonnet Bay P&C) or EFT to the P&C
Account remain as the only option for P&C
payments.
In the event that the school is collecting
donations for a charity, students should take
their donation to their classroom where it will be
collected by their teacher.
BASC News Our focus this week is Social Development.
During our experiences, children learn to
interact in relation to others with care, empathy
and respect. We chatted about the story of The
Rainbow Fish, demonstrating kindness and
appreciation towards it’s friends as we
engaged in a clay moulding activity adding
some sequins for it’s scales. Staff conducted a
social group time, where we discussed and
role-modelled scenarios focussing on inclusion
and antibullying. Children expressed their ideas
and respected the perspectives of others. We
look forward to another fun week ahead!
