MNC Zone Rugby Union Any Year 6 student interested in trying out for the Mid North Coast Rugby Union team can see me about a permission note. Trials will take place next Monday 3rd June at Toormina Sport & Recreation ground in Hogbin Drive from 10:30am to 1:00pm. Transport will need to be provided by interested parents. Mr King is the selector/coach. Student Behaviour There are quite a number of Sporting and Cultural activities for students this term. However, the behaviour of a small number of seniors, both in the playground and the classroom is a concern at the moment. The school reserves the right to ban any child from an activity if their behaviour is unsatisfactory. School Fundraiser The school will be running a sausage sizzle this Friday as a school fundraiser. It is hoped that at the end of the year there will be sufficient funds to purchase needed resources for our children. Sausage sandwiches are on sale for anyone who wants one for $2 each. Mr Rayner

Year 2 News...

Yesterday a homework task was sent home. Students have to choose a local place and make a 3D design of it using recycled items eg boxes, bottles, containers. Due on the 14th June. So, start collecting recycled materials. Don’t forget that reading every night is so important. I only see 4 or 5 reading journals each day. Miss Simmons Year 4/5 News...

Homework and spelling sheets have been issued this week and are due in on Friday. Completed Home Reader Journals are also due in on Friday. In grammar we have been looking at adjectives and how adjectives are used in advertisements. In maths we are looking at place value and the 7, 8 and 9X Tables. In writing we have been writing a narrative titled, “The Worst Day of My Life.” We are also continuing our morning journal writing. Mr Hasson

Year 6 News...

Just a reminder that environment projects are due in this week. We are looking forward to learning about the way we use Earth’s resources. Inter-school Debating begins next week. This involves 4 team members travelling to another school, and 4 team members debating the other schools’ second team here at school. We will choose the first debate’s team members this week. Topics can only be given to teams one week prior to the debate. We are looking forward to honing our debating skills! Yr 6 are excited to begin Peer Support today. I’m sure they will be fabulous leaders! Mrs Owen Kindies enjoying their fruit n vege platter…..

PSSA State KO Football

Last Thursday Corindi Boys and Girls football teams participated in a gala day with 3 other Northern Beaches Schools. A huge thankyou to Mrs McLennan and her hard working team who set up the canteen and also put up the nets and set the fields up. Thank you to the parents who also cheered on the teams throughout the day. The results. Girls v Sandy Beach lost 3-0 and then lost to Wooolgoolga 3-0 in the second round. The girls never gave up, and at times had a chance to win the game against Woopi. Kaitlyn Simpson in defence, and Jessica Simpson in goals, were our standout players. The results. Boys vs Sandy Beach lost 3-2 after leading 2-1 for most of the game. Unfortunately in round 2 we came up against a red hot Woolgoolga team that won 10-0. Again, the boys never gave up and were unlucky not to score a few more goals on the day. Will Lonsdale was our stand out player in goals, and I think we have unearthed a future star in Holdyn Cowan in the halves. Mr Hasson
