Intensive Swimming Tomorrow is the final day of the Intensive Swimming Scheme. Although an
exausting time for the students, it proved to be a highly enjoyable and worthwhile
experience. Each day the students approached their lesson with enthusiasm,
aiming to improve their water skills and for some, overcome their fears. We were
fortunate to have such warm sunny days for our swimming. We thank the swim
instructors and parents involved. Each child will receive a certificate outlining the
particular skills achieved over the two weeks.
Captains and SRC for 2019It’s come to the time of year when we start the process of electing our student
representatives for 2019. Students who are interested in becoming one of our
school captains in 2019 will have the opportunity to present a speech at next
week’s assembly. The students have been asked to start planning their speech
indicating why they believe they would be a good candidate for school captain.
Following the assembly all students will vote for our captains and SRC members.
Our two captains and SRC members will be announced at Presentation Night in
Week 10.
Commencing in 2019 any two students from Year 6 can be elected as captain.
The tradition of having one boy and one girl captain will no longer be the model.
Kinder OrientationOur final Kinder O day will be held next Wednesday 12
December commencing at 9am. Hopefully we will see all 12
new Kinder students attending for the whole day. Mrs Williams
has some wonderfully exciting activities planned for the boys
and girls.

crunch and sip, recess, lunch and their water bottle. The
students and our staff are looking forward to seeing all of
our new Kinder students for the whole day.
Positive Learning BehavioursOur focus for this week in our Positive Learning Behaviour
program is “Transitions around the school”. Teachers and
students will have a close look at those behaviours which
are important when our students are moving around
the school that ensure they are safe, respectful and
responsible.
As each of these weekly lessons is completed parents
will notice various posters on display around our school
showing the expected behaviours. This provides a visual
reminder for our students.
Performance EveningYesterday we had our whole school rehearsal for our
Performance Evening next week. As each week passes
we are seeing some steady improvement in the students’
performance. If parents have not yet sent in their child’s
costume for their item please do so by TOMORROW.
In most cases children will just need some basic casual
clothing from home for their performance. Other
performance groups will be supplemented by items
that the school will provide. Costume items will be kept
at school until next Tuesday when we have our dress
rehearsal.
A reminder that all students will be
travelling to the hall on Tuesday
and Thursday morning of next
week to practice. All students will be transported to the
hall in staff cars. Any parent who does not want their
child to travel to the hall in this manner are to contact the
school as a matter of urgency.
End of Year Reports Teachers are currently finalising their
class reports for second semester. These
will be sent home with students in a
sealed envelope next Friday. Parents and carers are
reminded that this report reflects their child’s work and
achievements throughout Terms 3 and 4. Parents who
would like to make an appointment with their child’s
teacher to discuss their child’s report are asked to contact
the school office.
Presentation NightParents are reminded that our Presentation Night will be
held on Tuesday 18 December on the back playground.
The night will begin with our traditional Picnic on the
Grass (our back playground) so bring along your chairs,
blankets and some dinner.
We will have a number of presentations and special
awards for our students and this will be
followed by a special visit from Santa.
Our Kindergarten students of 2019 will
also be joining us.
Families are kindly asked to provide a plate for supper.
