CCH VISION For all people in Cobram and District to have equitable access to Adult and Community Education, giving them opportuni-ties to achieve lifelong learning.
CCH MISSION Cobram Community House (CCH) will meet ex-
pressed and implicit demands for Adult Education and Training in Cobram and the surrounding district, through the delivery of accessible quality education and training programs.
CCH is non- discriminatory and endeavours to make Adult Education available to all members of the com-munity seeking to upgrade their skills and/or extend their learning.
CCH will continue to develop and expand a wide range of accredited courses and programs in the following areas; Adult Literacy and Basic Education

Quality Assurance will be maintained through profes-sional development of committee members, adminis-trators, qualified tutors and workplace trainers and assessors.

Cobram Community House provides a range of locally based training in a welcoming and supportive environment. We offer a range of Courses both accredited (recognised nationally) and pre-accredited which are affordable and allow for flexible learning options. We are a ‘Learn Local organisation’ and our accredited training qualifications are recognised by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. So why travel?? We are entering our final term for 2011. Our planning for 2012 is already underway. Food Safety Supervisor Program
SITX07—Hospitality Units or HLTH07—Health Units
This course meets legislative requirements for Food Safety Supervisors for either the hospitali-ty food industry sector or the health food indus-try sector. Upon enrolment you will be trained in the relevant units for your industry, and cov-er the skills and knowledge you need to success-fully implement your organisation’s Food Safety Program. The completion of a Food Safety Plan is a requirement of this program. The assess-ment will involve evidence of documents for the Food Safety Plan in your workplace.

Digital Photography
A basic introduction into the use of the camera and how to edit photos. This will enable participants to upload photos to the comput-er for use in websites and digital presenta-tions. You may use this as a pathway into Web Design, Photography and other related courses or for organising your own photo-graphic library.

This course is for those who need to learn the basics. Starting from scratch you will learn foundation computer skills and be in-troduced to the internet and email. Come and enjoy our non-threatening supportive class. (7 sessions)

Centrelink Agency
As a Centrelink Agent we provide free self help facilities where you can conduct your business with Centrelink. This includes services such as:
providing information products, forms and brochures
access to a telephone dedicated to the Centrelink Call network
facsimile/photocopy facilities to forward material to Centrelink or other related
uses (such as, fax a job resume).
Trained CCH staff can sight and photocopy Proof of Identity (POI) documents so
that you don’t have to send the original documents in the mail to support your claims.
In addition we provide a face to face information service to the community and an internet enabled computer and printer for you to conduct your business. The services provided also include:
assistance and guidance in the use of self service products, (for example, in-
ternet for online service, automated telephone systems and a fax for lodging forms)
accepting claim forms and other documentation required to be lodged with
Centrelink
responding to customer enquiries and providing assistance, guidance or refer-
ral as appropriate. PLEASE NOTE: Centrelink Agents are not Centrelink staff and cannot:
review, assess or vary payments
access Centrelink customer information
make any payments or decisions about payments
issue Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBTs) or Health Care Cards.

Cobram Community House (CCH) is a recognised referral venue for members of the Community who may be seeking assistance due to hardship.
CCH is part of a broad network of ser-vice providers who are available to as-sist members of the Community who may be experiencing difficult times or may just need information of the types of assistance available.
We are able to provide Emergency Re-lief (ER) by issuing the following:
FOODSHARE Vouchers - Basic
staples and other various food items are provided. As per regu-lations this can be accessed 6 times within a year.
IGA Vouchers - Supplementary
assistance for basic staples not covered by Foodshare.
TRANSPORT - Emergency as-
sistance for unforeseen circum-stances. May include public transport or fuel.
OTHER - we are able to assist
with assessment and referrals if hardship is being experienced. We refer to financial and other counseling. We can also help you negotiate with utility provid-
ers to set up payment plans.

Our Broadband for seniors kiosk is available during opening hours in the foyer. Come and take advantage of our
free service.
Tax Help
Free help for low income earners with their tax return. If you want free help filling out your tax return and you are on a low income our trained Tax Help vol-unteers may be able to help you.
CV / Resume Writing
Would you like your resume or CV pro-fessionally typed and printed? Call in to discuss our staff assisting you with your presentation. We have a sliding scale of charges.
