Lost Property Please, please come and check the Lost Property tubs if you or your child are missing any school related items. Lunch boxes, lunch bags, drink bottles, plastic containers, hats, jumpers, socks – you name it we seem to have it. The tubs are located near the lift in the canteen COLA and near the staffroom door. All unclaimed items will be washed an d donated to the clothing pool. Labelling all items is a great way to help us get things back to the rightful owners.

GENERAL SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS Each year we seek from parents and guardians a General School Contribution. Funds raised through this contribution are being used to supplement educational resources and programs in the school. As the school’s End of Financial Year is 30th November 2012, it would be appreciated if all outstanding General School Contributions could be paid by this date. If you are paying your contributions by instalments the Term 4 payment is now due. If you haven’t yet paid any contributions, full payment would be appreciated. General School Contributions for this year are set at $50 for single student ($12.50 per term) and $80 for a family of 2 or more students ($20 per term). Please complete the slip at the end of this newsletter and return with your payment.

Scripture Concludes Today Tuesday 20th November was the last session of Scripture for 2012. The students and staff of Milton Public School would like to sincerely thank the volunteers who give their time to work with our children. Your efforts are really appreciated and it has been wonderful having you as an important part of our learning community.

Captain and Prefect Nominees 2013 Congratulations to the students who were selected by their peers and staff, as nominees for the role of Captain or prefect of Milton Public School in 2013. Well done Darcie E, Kelsey M, Megan J, Luka R, Morgan S, Eliza C, Nicola S and Meirah P for girl nominations, and Jacob W, Lachlan O, Dale R, Alex E, Lleyton R, Marcus S and Noah T for the boys. Congratulations, you have been recognised by your peers as appropriate candidates for the privilege of school leaders. Well done and thank you to every student in Year 5, who took their task seriously and nominated such exemplary role models. All students have accepted nominations and are invited to present speeches at the K-6 Assembly on the 26th of November in our school hall at 9:30am. Parents and other family members are most welcome to join us.

Work Experience Welcome to Tessa Fair from Ulladulla High School who will be working with our teachers and students for her week of work experience.

CWA Project Success Congratulations to Laura M who has gained First Place in the CWA ‘Country of Study’ at the Wollondilly Regional level. Well done Laura on an outstanding achievement.

Swimming Scheme Year 2 students are currently participating in a two week intensive swimming program to help students increase their water confidence and awareness of the importance of water safety. They will also develop swimming and rescue skills and techniques. Swimming sessions for Years 3-6 continue for sport.

Visiting Band Barrenjoey High School Touring Band will be conducting a number of concerts on the south coast in the coming weeks. The band features 50 students, comprising a 50-piece symphonic wind, jazz ensemble as well as singer/songwriter duos and trios in a fabulous concert. Our students will have an opportunity to hear and see this band on DECEMBER 5th at MILTON THEATRE. Cost: $4 per student. There will be 2 concerts on this day: 10.30 am for students K-Year 4 and at 12.00pm for Year 5 and 6 students, (Year 6 students will have returned from High School Orientation by this time) Numbers are limited. If you would like your child to attend, please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter and return with payment to the office.

Dog Rescue “Dogs are the only thing on earth that love you more than they love themselves.” Almost Home Rescue are looking for people who would like to foster or adopt dogs through no fault of their own have been found on death row in pounds or have special needs. If you are one of these people please phone Jools on 0434 198 695 or Facebook. Almost Home Rescue for Animals with special needs. You can also see Mrs Prowse at school for more information. At present we have a very small 8year old desexed female staffy looking for a forever home. She is amazing with people and children but not good with other dogs.
