    Proper Space Utilisation

    Similar Airports

Kuala Lumpur Airport with same number of passengers

as CSIA has an area of 30,000 acres

Delhi Airport has 5000 acres of land

    Bangalore airport has 5500 acres

    17 Acres Mega Roof

The Airport is maximized not in area but also in length,

190 feet above and 45,000 feet aperture space.

30 Mega columns (135 ft. high) were constructed to take

the load of 15,000 tonnes roof.

Special shape was given to the column top to share theweight between two columns and thus reducing the

number of columns and introducing a state of art design

    to the whole structure.

A special glass structure to reduce this noise to 40

    decibels.

It had two layers of glass with 0.5 inch separationbetween them .

One million square feet of this structure was neatly

designed to provide a clear view of runway to the

    passengers.

Airport Connectivity Road traffic near the airport was an immense problem.

There was no space for an expressway in this area.

A new highway must be created in order to overcome the

traffic problem. This was the only road connecting airport to the main city.

This road was just next to residential area due to which

construction of such an highway without disturbing the

    traffic was a difficult task.
