Highlighting Saltillo Tiles To make these beautiful and earthy Saltillo tiles, our Mexican artisans form local clay into tiles by hand, exposing them right after to the Mexican sun. Before sending them to our customers, the tiles are fired in kilns to add strength and the proper color. Highlighting Cement Floor Tiles Cement Floor tiles originate from the south of France where they appeared in the late 19th century. The new technique of using a hydraulic press with natural pigments and fine aggregates to create these distinctive handmade tiles served as a base for further artistic development. Mosaic, encaustic and Spanish mission tiles all hail back to the technique developed in Europe in the 19th century, and used as a favored flooring option across the continent. The palaces of Saint Petersburg, Barcelona’s renowned Gaudi style houses, and building entrances in Paris are all testimonies to the durability and elegant style these tiles contribute to classic architecture. It is not surprising that this type of tiling became increasingly popular in the United States around the turn of the 20th century. After all, the basic technique was passed down through generations of artisans and honed to perfection throughout the decades. Highlighting Saltillo Tiles

To make these beautiful and earthy Saltillo tiles, our Mexican artisans form local clay into tiles by hand, exposing

them right after to the Mexican sun. Before sending them to our customers, the tiles are fired in kilns to add

strength and the proper color.

Highlighting Cement Floor Tiles

Cement Floor tiles originate from the south of France where they appeared in the late 19th century. The new

technique of using a hydraulic press with natural pigments and fine aggregates to create these distinctive handmade

tiles served as a base for further artistic development. Mosaic, encaustic and Spanish mission tiles all hail back to the

technique developed in Europe in the 19th century, and used as a favored flooring option across the continent. The

palaces of Saint Petersburg, Barcelona’s renowned Gaudi style houses, and building entrances in Paris are all

testimonies to the durability and elegant style these tiles contribute to classic architecture. It is not surprising that

this type of tiling became increasingly popular in the United States around the turn of the 20th century. After all, the

basic technique was passed down through generations of artisans and honed to perfection throughout the decades.
