33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to יהוה your oaths.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is Elohim’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Yerushalayim, for it is the city of the Great Sovereign. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.

Page 38: Terumah

Terumah Brit Chadashah (Mat 5)

37 But let your word ‘Yea’ be ‘Yea,’ or ‘No’ be ‘No’; anything beyond these is from the wicked one.

1 Now concerning the ministering to the saints, it is unnecessary for me to write to you. 2 For I know your eagerness, about which I boast of you to the Macedonians, namely, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your ardour has stirred up most of them. 3 But I have sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be made empty in this part, so that, as I said, you may be ready;

Page 40: Terumah

Terumah Brit Chadashah (2Co 9)

4 lest if some Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to speak of you—should be put to shame by this confident boasting. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brethren to come to you ahead of time and arrange your promised blessing beforehand, which you had previously promised, that the same would be ready as a matter of blessing, and not as of greediness.

Page 41: Terumah

6 Now this I say: He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously shall also reap generously. 7 So let him give as he purposes in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for Elohim loves a joyous giver. 8 And Elohim is able to make all favour overflow toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Page 42: Terumah

Terumah Brit Chadashah (2Co 9)

9 As it is written:“He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor;his tzedakah remains forever.”10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food shall supply and increase your seed for sowing and increase the fruit of your tzedakah. 11 while you are enriched in every way for all simplicity, which causes thanksgiving through us to Elohim.

Page 43: Terumah

Terumah Brit Chadashah (2Co 9)

12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to Elohim. 13 Because of the proof of this service, they esteem Elohim for your submission to your confession to the Good News of Messiah, and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding favour of Elohim in you.

Page 44: Terumah

15 Thanks be to Elohim for his unspeakable gift!
