TESORO  MARTINEZ  –  AT  A  GLANCE  

§  650  employees    -­‐-­‐  using  a  “mul4plier”  effect  this    means    5,200  jobs  that  rely  on  our  business  

§  700  -­‐  1500  contract  employees  (depending  on  projects)  §  $97  million  in  annual  payroll;    $16  million  in  Property  Tax  paid  in  2014  •  One  of  five  Bay  Area  refineries  supplying  15-­‐20%  of  local  fuel  supplies  •  Also  one  of  the  four  refineries  that  have  con4nuously  operated  here  

since  ca.  1915  •  Marine  transporta4on  accounts  for  20%  of  refinery  petroleum  product

PROJECT  OVERVIEW  

•  MOTEMS  -­‐  Standards  were  developed  to  ensure  that  California  Marine  Oil  Terminals  meet  the  highest  levels  of  safe  opera4on  and  protec4on  of  the  environment  

•  This  project  will  consist  only  of  upgrading  the  exis4ng  Avon  Marine  Terminal  to  current  MOTEMS  Standards  -­‐  with  no  addi4onal  capacity  for  product  transfers  

•  The  Avon  Marine  Terminal  does  not  bring  in  crude  oil  -­‐  a  lease  condi4on  does  not  allow  crude  unloading  without  State  approval  

•  State  Lands  Commission  requires  project  comple4on  by  June  2017
