INTRODUCTION TO TEST PROJECT DOCUMENTATION

The following is a list of sections or information that must be included in all

Test Project proposals that are submitted to World Skills Asia 2018

• Contents including list of all documents, drawings and photographs that

make up the Test Project

• Introduction/overview

• Short description of project and tasks

• Instructions to the Competitor

• Equipment, machinery, installations and materials required to complete the

Test Project

• Marking scheme (incl. assessment criteria)

• Other

INTRODUCTION

This should be a brief introduction or overview to the design concept or

background to the proposal.

Electrical work is a special type of construction work, during which the

specialist is engaged in the electrification of residential commercial and

industrial buildings.

An electrician can work as an individual entrepreneur and as an employee of

a construction company,

When working as an electrician, you must be able to:

• Correctly organize a work place

• Observe safety rules

• Be able to organize communication with the customer and with the

partner

• To show ingenuity when assembling an electrical circuit

• Install the equipment in accordance with the wiring diagram

• Correctly prepare the wires, following the rules of electromagnetism

• Connect the equipment in accordance with the schematic diagram

• To start the electric circuit

• Find faults in the wiring diagram and fix them or indicate on the circuit

diagram.

Adolescents aged 14-16 years can assemble the electrical circuit using

standard technical documentation and conventional electro technical

equipment.

At work of children at the age of 14-16 years it is necessary to observe safety

precautions. Especially - safety electro technical and at work with the

metalwork tool.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND TASKS

This should provide a description of the overall project and tasks broken

down into the smaller milestones or modules. It may also include a summary

of the assessment for each project or task.

General requirements

• Test project must be coincide with the principles of WSI Test project of

competition Electrical Installation with limitation of working with children.

At first: work only in a network with a voltage not exceeding 240 volts

AC.

• Test Project to be designed by experts, safety specialists and industry

partners;

• All technical terms and descriptions used in the Test Project must be in

accordance with internationally recognized standards;

• Cable and conduit measurements are to the centre of the cable/conduit;

• Duct and equipment measurements are to the centre or edge of the

duct/equipment;

• All dimensions must be from specific reference lines (datum/centre

lines);

• Using only installation wire with cross section 1.5 ,2.5 mm;

• At least three different cable support systems must be used. For

example:

✓ Plastic cable tray,

✓ Plastic corrugated tube,

✓ Rigid smooth plastic tube,

✓ Metal trays are forbidden.

The Test Project will consist of the following modules

WSAAD2018_TPJ_ Electrical Installation Version: 1.0

Date: 17.09.18 4 of 12

Module one – Domestic and Commercial installation module

• 11 hours maximum including commissioning and equipment setup;

• Working time 4 hours a day

• The Competition Organizer must supply materials for the competition

only;

• Module one to begin on day C1;

• Measurement marks will be measured progressively each day as

indicated by the Test Project;

• Before start of Module 1 experts must to draw the axial lines

• Axial lines must not be erased to the end of mark

• Module one must be completely finished and marked by the end of

C3;

• Module one will be installed on one or two walls and the ceiling of

the Competitors cubicle;

• Drawings to be circulated at least two months prior to the

Competition.

• Installation testing board to be built by Competition Organizer;

• Competitors perform the task of module three in turn during days c1-c3

• Module three and marking to be completed by day C3;

• A circuit diagram will be released with the Test Project and all Experts

are required to bring this with a list of five or ten faults (depends on the

complexity of the wiring diagram) and any equipment that may be

needed to create them;

• One set of faults will be selected at random for use.

• Faults can be made only by independent expert (for suppose, expert from the WSI competition area)

General instructions for all modules

• The Test Projects must reflect the standards from across the world and not one specific continent.

• Once all the Test Projects have been completed they must reflect aspects of electrical installations throughout the world.

Requirements for module one – Domestic and Commercial installation

• This module must include lighting circuits, power outlet circuits;

• This module must include a design task for the Competitor;

• Installation of distribution boards and protection equipment must be included;

Requirements for module three – Installation testing

• Installation testing must be without with power

• The test circuit designs must include the following circuits: o A lighting circuit; o A socket outlet circuit; o A power circuit (such as a motor leading system);

• A total of 5/10 faults must be installed;

• Installation testing faults must include as a minimum: o One incorrect polarity fault; o One incorrect visual fault. o One short circuit faults; o One open circuit faults; o One interconnection faults

• Competitors are required to bring their own test instruments to the Competition in order to be able to carry out the requirements of this module. They must meet the Host Country’s/Region’s health and safety requirements;

• Under the terms of the module, the competitor does not correct the scheme, but only notes the errors on the principal scheme

• At the completion of C4 the Competitors will see the installed faults.

General scheme 2. Lighting

The competitors must :

• Take measures on the board to build the circuit

• Builds the circuit properly as the diagram.

• Design a proper standard circuit

• testing to the circuit using standard test equipment,

• Fault finding

Test Project marking scheme: -

Each Test Project must be accompanied by a marking scheme proposal based on

the assessment criteria defined

The marking scheme proposal is developed by the person(s) developing the Test

Project. The detailed and final marking scheme is developed and agreed by all

Experts at the Competition.

Test Project validation Experts will validate the Test Project together at the

Competition.

The test

Follow the standard instruction in building the circuit :-

- The DB height 160 cm from the reference point

- The switches height 130 cm from the reference point and 40 cm from

the right side

- The sockets height 50 cm from reference point

- The emergency switch height 100 cm from reference point

- Loads to be set at the 160

- PIR

MARKING SCHEME

Every Test Project must be accompanied by an associated marking scheme

matching the assessment criteria as given in the Technical Description

(Marking Summary). For each of these criteria a detailed list of aspects to be

assessed must be defined (this would be a draft proposal that is discussed

and finalised during preparation time at the Competition).

Criteria Mark
