Teaser Trailer Test Screening

We showed our unfinished rough-cut to the other six groups in our class and got feedback from each on our use of mise en scene, camerawork, editing and sound. They also wrote what they felt were our trailers main strengths and the way they felt the trailer could be improved.

Combined Feedback

At this point, our trailer is far from being finished and we mistakenly left the unedited shots to be included later at the end of the teaser so it looked very unprofessional. In addition to this, we also hadnt finished our sound.

Most of the comments of how we could improve picked up on this.

We scored highest in the Mise en Scene and Camerawork sections but had an overall Good response in all of the sections.

The comments highlight:

The Beginning: the company Ident, the establishing shot, the shots introducing characters.

Transitions: conventional black fade.

Variety of shots, camera angles & locations

Take more shots to make the teaser longer

To start:Editing the final shots

Putting together genre appropriate music.

We had a production meeting and based on the response sheets we decided we needed to film some more shots so that our trailer would be long enough. We starting making notes of types of shots we could take and then a list of props we would need to put together to film these shots.

Time management has also been an issue so we need to focus on that too.
