Campus RecreationOur state-of-the-art Morris Recreation Center (MRC) has a three-tier fitness area, an indoor track, multipurpose courts and a 45-foot climbing wall.
Swim some laps in the outdoor pool, grab a mountain bike and hit the challenge course, or check out camping equipment for a weekend retreat. Love Zumba, spin classes or need a personal trainer? We have it covered, and opportunities to be active are endless.
Don’t just develop your game, grow your leadership and teamwork skills to last a lifetime. With A&M-Commerce intramural sports (IM), all students have the opportunity to choose between indoor and outdoor events, ranging from single-day tournaments to multi-week league sports. IM sports include flag football, soccer, basketball, 4x4 sand volleyball, softball and more.
You can also join club sports like racquetball, table tennis, basketball, golf, soccer, taekwondo, climbing, and slowpitch softball.

Our all-you-care-to-eat dining room is located on the first floor of the Rayburn Student Center and features a wide variety of fresh foods. Home-style entrées, hamburgers, pizza, soups, fresh fruit, a salad bar, desserts and vegetarian options are on the menu every day! If you have food allergies or other dietary concerns, you can trust our “Simple Servings” station to meet your dining needs.
You can also visit the Lion’s Lair in the RSC for wings, build- your-own burritos, custom stir fry or a quick cup of coffee from Starbuck’s.

A variety of academic programs and study abroad opportunities are available to students, many of which take place in the summer months such as British Studies, Spanish in Spain, and Business in China.
Th e Sophomore Year Experience is a Living and Learning community wherein students use the skills learned in their freshman year to implement change that will enhance their local and global community. Students live together while building a team that will research a global topic, do fundraising, and eventually travel out of the United States during the summer months. Hispanic OutreachWe offer assistance in Spanish and English for admissions, financial aid, advising, scholarships, community outreach, mentorship and cultural programs. Students and their families are advised during the applications and financial aid process so that no questions are left unanswered. A&M-Commerce is an emerging Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), supporting the mission of the university to further diversify our student population. The HSI designation is a benefit to the entire university in that it opens up the possibility for additional grants and funds.

Supplemental Instructors (SI Leaders) attend math lectures and then host study sessions outside of class time.
Online Tutoring With more than 3,000 instructors, tutor.com is an online tutoring platform available to you anytime from anywhere.
Student Disability Resources and Services offers accommodations counseling, disability-related resources, access to adaptive technology, assistive equipment for on-campus use and academic/non-academic accommodations.
More Opportunities to Succeed!The Writing Center Assists writers at all levels by working one-on-one or in small groups. Tutors help writers at all stages of the process from brainstorming to polishing a final draft.
The Math Lab Designed to assist remedial, freshman and sophomore-level students. Tutoring for higher-level courses is also available, just ask.
Success CoachesEach first-time undergraduate and some transfer students will have a personal success coach assigned directly to them. Your success coach is your advisor and cheerleader, willing to help you transition into college life and provide academic, financial, personal and career counseling.

High tail it to the Rayburn Student Center for some Lion camaraderie.The Rayburn Student Center (RSC) is the heart of campus, a place to be included in the greater university community and enjoy the everyday excitement of being a Lion. Catch a movie or saddle up to your favorite gaming system. Shift gears, regroup and rub shoulders with other members of the pride. The RSC is the place to grab a meal as well as a venue for special events and weekly entertainment. Don’t overlook resources like the Mane Card Office (student IDs), as well as 100+ student organizations from which to choose a best fit for you.

A&M-Commerce accepts the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA), for those not eligible to complete the FAFSA. Apply for financial aid in three easy steps.
1. Gather InformationTo apply for financial aid, you will need:> Social Security Card (TASFA applicants may not have one) > Federal tax returns (and your parents’ if applicable). If
you or your parent(s) electronically filed an income tax return with the IRS at least 10 days prior to completing the FAFSA, you can use the IRS data retrieval system when completing the income sections of your FAFSA. It’s easy and quick!
> W-2 statements and/or other documents showing money earned or received.
2. Submit Application> Visit FAFSA.gov to request a FSA ID. You will need your
FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically. If you are a dependent, both you and one of your parents/guardians will need a FSA ID.

The Regents’ Scholar Program (RSP) is a unique academic experience focused on leadership development and international study as part of a four-year scholarship that assists with tuition, fees and housing. The Leo Scholars Program provides freshmen with four-year scholarships to assist with tuition, fees and housing while focusing on career readiness and professional development. Early coursework is designed to prepare students for an on-campus internship that serves as a capstone experience. Ten new students are admitted to the program each year.
The First-Year Leadership Class (FLC) is a living-learning community that equips students with personal leadership skills and is a competitive scholarship opportunity for top freshman student leaders. Students develop skills to take initiative, better their surroundings and serve as agents of positive change on campus and beyond. FLC inspires participants to take an active role on campus and in the community through fun, hands-on activities and eye-opening discussions.

Transfer Q&A
What are the criteria to be considered for transfer admission?
You must have 21 credit hours* and a 2.0 minimum GPA†. If you have less than 21 transferable hours or you are a high school student with college credit, you are still considered a freshman and must apply by submitting your official ACT/SAT test scores, high school transcript and college transcript(s). Beginning Fall 2016 transfer admission criteria changes to 12 credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA.
How are credits evaluated?
Credits are assessed by Admissions and may be reviewed by department heads or deans. Only college-level courses with a grade of “D” or better will transfer. Courses with grades below “C” may not count toward your major. Transferable credits will be shared with you upon completion of the evaluation.
I applied for a previous semester and was accepted. Will I be accepted again?
If you applied as an incoming freshman or a transfer student and have since attended another institution, we need those transcripts to verify your GPA before an admission decision can be made based on your new application.
As a transfer student, can I take classes or complete my degree at one of the off-site locations around Northeast Texas?
While many courses and degrees are offered at the off-site locations, it is important to contact the specific location, or visit their webpage, to confirm what degree or courses are offered at your desired location.

International Admissions1. Submit ApplicationApply at ApplyTexas.org and list A&M-Commerce as your school of choice. There is no application fee, but an enrollment fee of $60 will be charged to your account upon enrollment. The application deadline is ninety (90) days prior to the beginning of the semester of enrollment.
2. Evaluate TranscriptInternational transcripts must be evaluated by an independent credential evaluation agency before a student can be considered for admission. Contact one of the following agencies for the costs associated with this service. Upon completion, provide a copy to:

The Keith D. McFarland Science Building boasts the University Planetarium! Sit back in this beautiful facility and be whisked off to the stars! It has a 40-foot dome and was recently upgraded to a Digistar 5 all-digital projection system which fills the auditorium with sights and sounds beyond imagination. Recline and our programming will immerse you, fill your vision and take you beyond the confines of Earth.
