I serve as Co-PI with THR direct care nurse Marta Lech, RNC. I wrote the project proposal and am guiding a multi-site team, including corporate Risk Management leaders, Branding Experiment leader, and other nurses to develop the implementation packet of materials. Upon receipt of THR IRB approval, I will direct the research pre-post survey phases and roll-out of the study.

Mentored direct care nurse Marta Lech, RNC, to present her Infant Falls Prevention project ideas to THR Corporate Executive Leaders when they visited THAL. Together Marta and I prepared a short power point slide set and practiced presentation delivery. This presentation garnered THR leadership support for the Infant falls prevention research project. Project title: Best Practice to support pain/comfort management in the perioperative period for patients with pre-identified obstructive sleep apnea. Scope: Focus Group methodology, transcription, data analysis, community service learning, poster preparation, panel session discussion and CUR abstract submission. 2011-2012, ongoing. Scope-implement funded research to conduct interviews with low-literacy, limited English proficiency Mexican American females and prepare Spanish language survey tools, 2009-2010.
