See, widow of the Astronaut, at the PropellerClub’s Luncheon in the World Trade Club of Houston. The award, sponsoredby the Houston King’s Point Alumni Association, is in memory of AstronautElliot See who was killed in an air crash. See was a graduate of theNational Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point and a member of theHouston Alumni group.

Industrial development of the lower reaches of the Houston Ship Channelis being sparked by the 4,430 acre Jacintoport industrial park with fourand a half miles of frontage on the Channel. Jaclntoport, owned by TheLouisiana Land and Exploration Company, is located on the site of theformer San Jacinto Ordnance Depot about twelve miles below the TurningBasin. Nine companies are already operating or have facilities under con-struction in the area. Jacintoport has a deep water terminal for berthingthree ships and two and o half miles of barge water frontage leading intothe Ship Channel.

figures show. January 1967, showed the
high for one month of $4,434,157.26.Fiscal year 1967 was more than $8 mil-
lion over fiscal year 1966’s $35,016,.476.20.
Total collections in Customs District53, created under the Bureau of Customs
re-organization program in May 1966,and covering customs offices in Houston,Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Oklahoma City,amounted to $53,276,156.01 in fiscalyear 1967. These same offices collected$41,378,550.42 in fiscal year 1966, giv-ing fiscal year 1967 an increase of $11~,-897,605.59, over 1966.
