ESCs: TEC Chapter 8• Established in 1967– Assist schools in improving student performance– Enable campuses and districts to operate more

efficiently and economically– Play a critical role in implementing TEA priorities

TCDSS Goals• Established under State Rider 93, included in

Rider 57, and in the recent NCLB Waiver– Coordinate and leverage statewide technical

assistance services for districts and campuses– Build statewide capacity for school improvement

TCDSS (con’t)– Develop a network of support and knowledge that

includes ESC Turnaround Teams, PSPs, TEA staff, districts and campuses

– Assist TEA by facilitating ESC collaboration in the provision of tools, products, and services to districts and campuses

TTC Goals• Established in July 2008 – Coordinate and leverage statewide technical assistance

services to support districts and schools– Build statewide capacity for school improvement– Develop a network of support and knowledge– Collaborate in the provision of tools, products, and

services to districts and campuses• TEA/TCDSS provided training• TEA/TCDSS reimbursed all travel• TEA required the Title I contact as a team member• Five Innovation Grants were awarded ($50,000)

TTCs continue . . .• Awarded $20,000 from TEA/TCDSS for sustainability

in summer of 2011 • TTC support required as part of Rider 57

Collaborative Goals for 2013-2014

• TCDSS and TEA support Priority Schools• ESCs (TTCs) support Focus Schools (with

collaboration of TCDSS– Continue to develop statewide products and

services that will assist low performing schools and districts (January Collaborative Meeting)

– Support the CTEP project• Put it on your calendar: Summer Institute June 17, 18, 19

• Continue to refine TTC role related to low performing schools and campuses

• Increase meetings – Quarterly– TCDSS will reimburse travel– Continue communicate regularly
