TEXTILE’11: REWIND-PLAY-FORWARDThe 8th Kaunas Biennial will be ongoing in Kaunas through September 22nd - December 4th, 2011. Kaunas Biennial is a platform for interrelations between visual and performing arts, as well as between art, science and industry: 7 days dance theatre program; 10 days conference with lectures, workshops, excursions; Fluxus happenings’ week, public art activities will unite artists and empower the local community for the common experience in cultural [co]/[post]/production. The program is prepared by organizer Kaunas Artists Support Fund and its partners:
• Dance Theatre AURA (Kaunas / Lithuania) coordinates the interdisciplinary visual arts and contemporary dance program PLAY;• ETN (European Textile Network) organizes the 16th international ETN conference and workshop program in Kaunas;• Ideias Emergentes (Portugal) and Estonian Artists’ Association (Estonia) are the organizations, which present Portuguese and Estonian contemporary art exhibitions in Kaunas, as well as Lithuanian contemporary art presentation in Portugal and Estonia in 2012.
