Masthead

The conventions of this typical music magazine could be the large masthead ‘NME’. This is very recognizable as it’s a popular company within music, this means that the magazine are able to put the masthead in the foreground of the magazine behind the main image and the audience will still be able to recognize who created this magazine.

Strap linesStrap lines are used mainly to try and convince the audience to buy this magazine article, it gives a hint of what you will find inside which makes you want to buy it, for example, in this edition with Jake Bugg as the main image, the cover line says ‘NIRVANA UNSEEN PICTURES!’. Its an effective form of persuasion.
