Textual Analysis - Own music Video 00:33 – 00:41minutes We are introduced by a mid-shot to a close up shot featuring the cheating boyfriend as he watches an abusive clip on his phone. This is a critical shot as it shows the boyfriends turning point to when he becomes abusive. After, we see that the boyfriend grabs the main character in a very aggressive way as he comes extremely close to her face. This storyline makes a major ideological point, of simulation and hierarches of state as we clearly see the boyfriend acting his influence by the music video in real life where he is in control. The reason why this clip of the music video is post- modern is due to the fact that when filming this clip I was trying to portray a critique to the media-saturated society of influence. Also the cheating boyfriend was watching another clip on another device which showed a different story. 2:37 – 3:00 minutes The mid to long shot featuring the main character walking into the house clearly shows the Matron Action shot where we can also clearly see that she is getting closer and closer to the tragic betrayal event. As she walks closer to the camera the audience can understand her facial expressions and feelings through the close up shot. We then see a mid-shot again of the main character as she is having flash backs of her boyfriend cheating on her. Again another Matron Action shot is shown through a close to long shot to clearly show the audience the shock as she drops her bag. The editing in this clip repeats itself to show the tragedy of the event. The main character makes a major ideological point to the lead up of the event.
