The choice of ‘sneered’ here suggests the man is an unpleasant character.

Sentence Structure• Short – abrupt, straight to the point,

• Long – train of thought, excited, childish.
• Questions – engaging the reader, sense of confusion of the character.
• Repetition – to emphasise a point, to create mood/tone.
