    EXT. TA VERION - CITY SCAPE

    As we PAN across the stone roof tops of the ancientunderground city.

    SARA (O.S.)Its beautiful.

    EXT. ROOFTOP GARDEN - TA VERION

    A garden blooming with a dizzying variety of rare andunusual plants and flowers.

    A sparkling pond sits in the middle surrounded by all thiscolour. Small brightly fluorescent fish can be glimpsedswimming within.

    A hand scatters brown flakes onto the ponds surface. Thefish eagerly nibbling the falling morsels. PAN up to reveala subdued Tazul as she scatters another handful of flakes.

    She glances over to Sara and Trovenus who explore thesurroundings.

    TAZUL

    Lo Mokol. I wanted to show yousomething special before youleave.

    SARASaving the best to last, huh?

    TAZULYou could say that.

    Trovenus stops at the edge of the garden and gazes in aweat the view. Almost the entire city can be seen here as it

    stretches beneath, appearing like a beautifully old jigsaw.

    TROVENUS(smiles)

    The view on display takes onesbreath.

    Sara appreciatively sniffs an unusual cylinder shaped redand blue striped flower.

    SARAHowd you find the place?

    Tazul screws the lid back onto the silver fish foodcontainer.

    TAZULI didnt. This oasis belongs tomy mother.

    (fondly)She used to take Zaizel andmyself here to help her tend it.We always complained.... eventhough we secretly enjoyed it.

    TROVENUS(touched)

    I am truly thankful for yousharing this with me.

    A low beeping stops Sara just as shes about to speak. Shepulls a small, silver device from her jacket.

    ANGLE ON the screen reads:

    The ships are breaking atmosphere. Get a move on, will ya?

    Is it time?

    Sara nods, sadly.

    SARATime for me to go.

    She slides the device back into her pocket. Sara takes onelast lingering look at the sprawling city view.

    EXT. ISA MAIN BASE - MORNING

    Only pale yellow desert stretches here. The once expansivedesert settlement now completely packed up as if it hadnever existed. Theres not a soul in sight either until we:

    REVERSE ANGLE to focus on the bases makeshift runway nottoo far away.

    A few black military helicopters and green army trucks dotthe area.

    The place teems with anxious stranded personnel who watchthe skies hopefully.

    PUSH THROUGH the crowd to rest on PRESTON and JENNIFER.Preston glances around as he scans the surroundings for

    something or rather a particular someone.

    JENNIFER(smirks)

    She has your balls in her hippocket.

    PRESTONIts not like that.

    She throws him a come on look at that.

    PRESTON (CONTD)The situations complicated.

    JENNIFERNot from where Im standing.

    (off Prestons glare)Just saying.

    EXT. DESERT - MORNING

    Sand is thrown up by something that is rapidly approaching.

    As the sand cloud hurtles towards the camera, the sandclears to reveal a speeding A.S.P.

    A sleek red transport driven by none other than Tazul. Sarasits beside her, watching the surroundings ZIP past.

    SARAPull up behind one of the trucksfurthest from their line ofsight.

    Tazul nods.

    You havent spoken for most ofthe trip. What is it?

    Tazul gives her a quizzical look.

    TAZULIts nothing. I wasjust...thinking. I do that youknow. Sometimes.

    SARA(smiles)

    So Ive heard. You want to tellme about it?

    (off Tazul)

    Seeing as how thisll probably bethe last chance we get to chat.

    TAZULWhy dont we just savour thisfleeting moment, instead?

    The transport SLOWS as it approaches the edges of therunways territory. Stopping in one of the trucks shadows.

    SARASo...heres my stop.

    She turns and pulls Tazul in for a genuine heartfeltgoodbye hug.

    SARA (CONTD)(soft)

    Thank you for everything.

    Tazul leans in, gently placing a kiss on Saras forehead.

    TAZULIt was an honour, my haikeri.Until we meet again.

    A now awkward Sara offers up one last smile as they breakfrom the embrace. Quickly sliding out of her seat and thetransport.

    Tazul watches as Sara walks away, out of the trucks shadowand towards the crowd of her fellow ISA soldiers.

    She sighs, almost wistfully, before her red transportspeeds off once more.

    Sara makes her way through the crowd to where Jennifer andPreston stand.

    SARA(smiles)

    Hey.

    PRESTON(grins)

    Hey yourself.

    She takes his hand in hers and squeezes it.

    Theres a distant ROAR of engines above them.

    As Sara looks up into the sky we follow her line of sight.Rays of sunlight strike the stark whiteness of three ISAissue spacecraft as they come closer, about to land....

    ACT ONE

    FADE IN:

    INT. THE GOLDEN BOAR- TA VERION

    Soft music and the hum of many conversations all takingplace at once is heard as LETTY fills up a jug with amberliquid. She turns, passing it to a bald man with a politesmile.

    Letty beams as she spots someones approach.

    LETTYLo Mokol for coming.

    ARC around to reveal SELENE.

    LETTY (CONTD)He wont talk about it. All hedoes is just drink. Thought youcould beat some sense into thathard head of his.

    SELENE(faint smile)

    Ill see what I can do.

    We follow Selenes POV as she scans the busy tavern.Spotting DBRONZE who sits by himself, a half empty jug ofale in front of him.

    EXT. ISA MAIN BASE - RUNWAY - DAY

    The impressive ISA space craft now take up most of therunway. People chat excitedly, crowding around. Mingling

    with their rescuers.

    ANN and NATHAN approach Sara and Preston in the crush.WHUMP! Ann envelopes Sara in a bone crunching hug as Nathanand Preston shake hands.

    ANNI missed you.

    SARA(smiles)

    That I can see. Dont get thewrong idea but why are you here?

    They break from the hug.

    Ann bites her lip, anxious as she shares a should we tell

    them? look with Nathan.

    A small envoy of people approaches them. Higher ups,

    judging by their parade uniforms and the deference of thecrowd as they pass.

    A man in his fifties respectfully doffs his hat to Sara andPreston. This is GENERAL JOSEPH FOREST.

    FORESTLieutenant, we have much todiscuss.

    Sara suspiciously regards him and the other people trailinghim.

    Her obvious uneasiness rising exponentially as she spots analoof man in his forties, DOCTOR SIMON BANDON, a blonde

    woman, DANIELLE SPEARMAN at his side.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. REVOLVING RESTAURANT - DAY - FLASHBACK

    The sounds of chatter, laughter and classy, soft music canbe heard as we STAY ON a small chocolate cake, a solitarysparkler flaring as its carried by a blonde waitress.

    She passes by the wall, an impressive swatch of glass thatprovides a panoramic view of the city skyline. A bustling,futuristic metropolis where numerous vehicles, cars andairships hover past.

    The cake is finally placed in front of Sara, Ann andMICHAEL COOPER, a man with Mediterranean dark looks.

    SARA(chuckles)

    Guys you promised.

    ANNWe lied.

    MICHAELCome on, it is your firstanniversary.

    Sara attempts in vain to blow out the sparkler.

    ANN(proudly)

    And as the youngest person in ISA

    history to become an R & Ddirector, you deserve it.

    Michael frowns, suddenly remembering something.

    MICHAEL(off them)

    ANN(low; conspiratorially)

    Ooh, is that the one about thesecret experiments run byDoctor Bandon in E.T Affairs?

    Michael nods.

    SARA(rolls her eyes)

    You two are such conspiracytragics. If something was goingon Id know about it.

    MICHAELWell go on. Check it out for me.

    SARAI told you. Area 314 doesntexist.

    ANNOfficially.

    Sara shakes her head in mock despair. This isnt the firsttime theyve had the discussion.

    MAN (O.S.)What a chance meeting.

    Ann and Michael freeze at the voice. Sara simply smilespolitely.

    ARC around to reveal Simon Bandon and Danielle now stoppedat their table.

    BANDONI spotted you and just thoughtId say hello. Dont forget our

    meeting. Im fascinated to hearyour views on Drusell.

    And with a wink and smile he saunters off.

    Sara stares pointedly at Simon Bandon as she answers theGeneral.

    SARA(icily)

    With all due respect Sir, cantthis discussion wait until after

    we leave orbit?

    FORESTYou misunderstand me. That wasnta request.

    EXT. MARKET - DAY

    A thriving market place buzzes with activity. Stallsoverflowing with an amazing array of fresh produce straightfrom the farm, beautiful silks and expensive clothes.

    Buyers hover and browse as children laugh and run throughstalls much to the consternation of harried stall owners.

    FOCUS ON a browsing ALEXA, a worn leather satchel over hershoulder. She stops at a stall where a plump man spruiks avariety of brightly coloured fruits and vegetables.

    STALL OWNERCome on over. You wont findleipas fresher anywhere else!

    Alexa critically scrutinizes a round yellow fruit, redspots spattering its firm skin.

    MAN (O.S.)Hes right. The leipas here isalways a pleasure on the tongue.

    She turns at his voice raising an impatient eyebrow as she

    regards him. The man is dressed all in black, his dark haircropped close to his scalp.

    ALEXAYoure late Vicius.

    VICIUSAn altak is never late. We appear

    when we mean to.

    ALEXA(dry)

    Of course you do.

    She takes a deep bite into the yellow flesh of the leipas,juices squirting. The plump man throws her a scandalizedlook, ready to complain until he spots Vicius.

    VICIUS

    (to the stall owner)Place it on my account.

    (to Alexa)Follow me.

    They start to weave through the chaos, Vicius in the lead.

    INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - ISA CRAFT - DAY

    Sara sits near the top of a circular table. General Forest

    and the other envoy officials taking the other seats.

    SARASir? Mind running that by meagain? I thought thatsuspiciously sounded like yousaying the IOC wanted toestablish a PRACO base.

    FOREST(nods)

    I have my orders. Information hascome to light regarding thisplanet. Of its potential, inlight of our expansion efforts inthe Outer ring.

    SWITCH FOCUS to Bandon who clears his throat.

    BANDONLets not skirt the issue,General.

    (to Sara)Youve accomplished here what

    were always aiming for.

    Relations, with an intelligentspecies, more technologicallyadvanced than our own. Otherattempts havent always been asfruitful. Well done.

    Despite his congratulatory manner, theres an edge to hiswords. Sara glares contemptuously at the good doctorsremarks.

    never to make assumptions.

    He gives her a significant look. Thrown, Sara glances tothe General and the other officials for affirmation.

    FOREST(off Sara)

    Given your experiences, the IOCpanel thought itd be in our bestinterests if you spearheadednegotiations.

    OFF Saras exasperated expression at the news.

    INT. BATHING QUARTERS - TAZULS ROOM

    The sounds of running water can be heard as we leisurelyPAN along the pale yellow walls here.

    Theres a distinctive sequence of beeps coming from anaurelius crest shaped pin, still clipped to a pale blueshirt atop a huddle of discarded clothes.

    The water shuts off, and theres a low thud and the muffledsounds of someone cursing before a hand DARTS into framepicking it up.

    NEW ANGLE reveals a dripping wet Tazul, a maroon towelhastily clutched across her body.

    TAZUL(into pin; warily)

    Ekadai?

    SARA (O.S.)(filtered)

    Its me.

    TAZULShouldnt you be leaving?

    SARA (O.S.)(filtered)

    Thats what Im calling about...

    We STAY ON Tazul as curiosity flickers across her features.

    A now frustrated Selene sits with Dbronze at his table.

    SELENE

    We told you to take some timeoff. Uvere has.

    DBRONZEIm fine.

    Selene critically eyes up Dbronzes stubbly and disheveledappearance.

    SELENEDont. You either take time offor you carry out your duties. I

    need to know youre notdistracted.

    She pauses, her face flickering with annoyance.

    DBRONZE(off her)

    What the fress is it?

    SELENEYouve just got the chance toprove your words. Tazuls waitingfor us.

    Selene gets up from the table, Dbronze following a littleless steadily.

    EXT. DESERT - DAY

    Two sand clouds in the distance alert us to the approach ofvehicles. As they come closer, the sand clears to revealtwo hovering A.S.Ps.

    Tazul, Selene and Dbronze are in the more sleek red craft.ZAIZEL, HOPKINS and two rear guards men in the other blackcraft.

    We FOCUS ON Zaizel in his transport as he watches thehorizon.

    ZAIZEL (V.O.)Diplomatically we can only accepton behalf of our clan not theAlliance.

    JUMP TO Tazul who rolls her eyes at her brothers remark.

    Selene discreetly touches Tazuls arm to get her attention.

    SELENEAs much as I hate to agree withhim. The humans dont haveanything of real value to offerus.

    TAZUL(nods)

    Strictly looking at theirspecies, presently. But there ispotential, in the future-

    Selene chuckles at that, genuinely amused. Tazul gives heran annoyed look.

    SELENE(off Tazul)

    Im not disagreeing. Youre justthe last person I expected tohear speaking on the future.

    EXT. ISA MAIN BASE - RUNWAY - EVENING

    Sara, General Forest and the envoy party watch as the twoA.S.Ps pull up, landing on the dusty runway.

    The occupants of the two transports, spilling out. Zaizeland Tazul take the lead as the small group approaches theenvoy.

    Zaizel eyes up the envoy, his lips almost instinctivelycurling in disdain.

    ZAIZELWho is the highest rankingrepresentative?

    FORESTThat would be me.

    INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - ISA CRAFT - EVENING

    Everyone has taken a seat at the circular table. The feratucluster on one side facing the human officials on the otherside.

    Sara shoots a wary glance at Simon Bandon who gives her asmug grin.

    Selene gives Tazul a significant look. She glances up atthe faces of the human officials seated across from them.Mostly mixed expressions of anxiety, determination and

    wariness play across their features.

    TAZULTheres no need for apprehension.We all wish to come to an

    agreement of mutual benefit.

    ZAIZEL(nods)

    To fully evaluate such aproposition we require a detailedoutline of your desires for suchan accord.

    BANDONMy desires and Im certain Ispeak for a significantproportion of us-

    He pointedly looks to Sara, a challenging expression on hisface.

    BANDON (CONTD)Are for some straight answersfrom our benevolent guests.

    Sara throws a look to General Forest. He returns one thatclearly says, youre in charge here, you deal with it.

    Zaizel watches the human interplay curiously, almost

    amused. Whilst Selene and Dbronze bristle at Bandonstone, already on guard.

    TAZULAsk your questions. We havenothing to hide.

    Bandon raises a sceptical eyebrow at that. Other humanofficials share similar expressions of distrust, seeming toshare his sentiment.

    Unable to argue that point, Bandon remains silent, his eyesflashing with annoyance.

    A red haired woman in her late forties, ISA OFFICIAL #1,clears her throat.

    ISA OFFICIAL #1(to Tazul)

    I want to know why you never

    warned our people stationed nearyour little battle lines aboutthe danger.

    Dbronze exchanges a brief, uncomfortable look with Tazulbefore:

    DBRONZEThe silica-

    (off the woman)Our laws, are strict boutcontacts with less developedspecies. Avoid it at all costsunless it aint possible.

    ISA OFFICIAL #1Forty of our people died, over ahundred were seriously injured.

    TAZUL(subdued)

    Another, ISA OFFICIAL #2, a bald man in his fifties glances

    meaningfully to Sara.

    ISA OFFICIAL #2Not to mention all thosedisappearances of our personnel.

    (beat; suspicious)Wasnt it true that some of yourpeople were behind it?

    Both Tazul and Zaizels eyes flash black, instinctivelyHISSING in righteous fury.

    They are not our people.

    We catch a glimpse of his dangerously elongated canines as

    he spits the response out.

    The man shrinks back a little, surprised at their hostileresponse.

    Selene rolls her eyes, more frustrated than anything else.

    SELENE(to Sara)

    I thought you told themeverything that happened with theKravens.

    SARAI have. In an extensive reportdetailing my findings.

    (to the man; pointed)Obviously not all of them read itbefore our meet.

    SELENEThats painfully obvious.

    (to the man)Keep insulting our clans honourand not even Dbronze and I could-

    She nods to Tazul and Zaizel, their eyes reverting back totheir original brown as they start to calm.

    SELENE (CONTD)Hold them back.

    BANDON(sneers)

    Is that a threat?

    SELENE

    (rolls her eyes again)Advice. Ask your fressingquestions.

    Sara sighs, this isnt going well. At all.

    SARAOne more question people. Sinceyou all seem incapable of a traceof cultural sensitivity.

    Bandon takes the lead once more, curiousity glittering in

    his eyes as something occurs to him.

    BANDONSomething thats piqued myinterest was exactly how ourplanetary scans revealed no majorindustrial settlements. Yet this

    planet is teeming with advancedcivilizations or so Ive beentold.

    All the feratu share an incredulous expression at this- asif he were asking why the sky was blue.

    TAZUL(shrugs)

    Eclipsing blankets are used bymost civilizations, they havebeen for centuries. Especially

    here in the outer ring. Theyprevent hostile forces fromsimply scanning the surface fromorbit and launching attacks.

    SELENEOr primitive travellers spying onyou from afar.

    BANDONThats the why covered. But youstill havent answered exactlyhow it works.

    A fed up Dbronze SLAMS his fist on the table.

    DBRONZEThe question is answered. Ya

    wanted to speak bout some mutualpact. Start speakin.

    Bandon wisely shuts up though he attempts to appearunruffled by Dbronze. Sara struggles to suppress a smileat that.

    SARARight. So why dont we start thenegotiations first with outliningour main proposals. Anyone?

    As she glances to the other ISA officials beside her we:

    FADE IN:

    EXT. FOOD STALLS - MARKETS - DAY

    The sounds of sizzling and crackling can be heard as awizened old man carries a large tray of what appears to befreshly fried bird feet.

    With a respectful nod, he places it on a table beforeVicius, who is currently engrossed in scanning a thickfile. He pauses, looking up.

    VICIUSLo Mokol Meseit.

    The man bows once more before departing.

    Vicius places the open file on his lap as he takes one ofthe still sizzling bird feet. Crunching it with relish.

    Alexa throws a wary look at the bustling food vendors andthe hordes of hungry customers that dot the area.

    ALEXACouldnt we have discussed thisin a more secure location?

    Still chewing, Vicius holds up his free hand gesturing forher to wait for him to finish.

    VICIUS(swallowing)

    All those within my bureau areloyal to the Cabal. We are freeto speak.

    He nods towards the tray.

    VICIUS (CONTD)Please feel free to partake.

    Alexa throws a disgusted look to the food before smilingpolitely.

    ALEXALo Mokol. But Ive already eaten.

    (beat)As for my little problem...

    Vicius smiles as one hand now absentmindedly plays with aknife.

    VICIUS

    I shall meet the Master Assassinto formally approve it.

    An enlarged surveillance STILL of Sara in an emerald ballgown atop the files contents.

    INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - ISA CRAFT - LATER

    Many hours later, judging by the weary expressions on thehuman officials including Simon Bandon, who file out of theroom past General Forest and Sara.

    General Forest shakes hands with Tazul and then Zaizel.

    FORESTOn behalf of the ISA I appreciateyou listening to our proposal.

    ZAIZELWe shall give you our decision assoon as we have reached aconsensus.

    TAZULAs a gesture of goodwill, Idlike to extend an invitation of atour of our clans capital, toall those who are interested.

    FORESTIll endeavour to pass on theinvitation.

    (clears his throat)

    And with a polite nod he leaves.

    SARA(yawns)

    She trudges off before anyone can respond.

    A bored Selene and Dbronze share a look of relief.

    SELENEFressing finally.

    DBRONZEFressin time.

    Zaizel throws them a scathing look before he glances atTazul.

    ZAIZELHonestly, why do you surroundyourself with such savages?

    As the group marches off, we ANGLE ON the circular table,staying on the faint ISA insignia, the world globe

    surrounded by six stars etched onto its surface.

    INT. QUARTERS - ISA CRAFT - NIGHT

    A tired Sara blearily blinks as the light turns on. Prestonsits up in bed, still awake.

    SARAThought youd be asleep.

    PRESTON(smiles)

    Thought you could escape theinquisition, hmm? So howd it go?

    She flops onto the bed as she yanks off her boots.

    SARA(sighs)

    About as well as I expected.

    PRESTON(chuckles)

    That bad,huh?

    Sara moves to scoot under the covers.

    SARAMmm hmm. Those ISA suits werescarily close to inciting aliteral blood bath today.

    She snuggles up to Preston who hopefully throws her alascivious look at that.

    Two familiar A.S.Ps, one red, the other black arecurrently touched down on the dusty runway. Only a handfulof humans cluster around the crafts. Tazul throws an unsurelook to General Forest.

    FORESTThey know.

    (shrugs)Were all thats coming Isuppose.

    Just as he says this, Simon Bandon and another six ISAsoldiers approach the group.

    BANDONWere not too late I hope.

    Sara shoots a wary glance at him and the soldiers.

    DBRONZEGet a move on if ya comin.

    Zaizel appraises the waiting humans clustering about.

    ZAIZELGiven the limited space withinour vehicles to accommodate yourpeople, I suggest we lead the

    way, you simply follow.

    FORESTSounds reasonable.

    Selene looks up at that, smoking away on a chaatu stick.

    SELENE(exhales smoke)

    Well need to split up. Fourtransports might draw unwantedattention.

    Sara suspiciously watches Bandon as he and his soldierswalk off, heading over to an ISA issue white truck.

    SARA(urgent; to Tazul)

    Be careful.

    Tazul half smiles, her expression partly amused, partly anattempt at reassurance.

    TAZULNo harm will come to them. Youhave my word.

    Bandon catches Saras distrustful gaze and smiles. A slychallenging grin that says,what are you going do aboutit?.

    SARANo. Watch out. Dr. Bandon hesnot...trustworthy.

    An amused Selene flicks some ash off her chaatu stick.

    SELENEWe can handle whatever drez he

    might pull.

    Dbronze gently claps a hand on Saras shoulder andsqueezes as he passes.

    Sara sits by herself at a table, a half eaten plate ofcereal in front of her.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. ISA LABS - EVENING - FLASHBACK

    Sara, wearing yellow safety glasses meticulously adds atiny sample of dark soil into a test tube of blue solution.

    She swirls it slowly before slotting it into an open deviceloaded with numerous other tubes. She pushes the cover downand presses in some commands.

    GERALD, a black man in a white lab coat nods as he

    approaches her. He indicates the deserted quiet laboratorythat surrounds them.

    SARAIm just finishing up.

    Gerald gives her a disbelieving, Ive heard that onebefore look before he hands her a thin metal package, afolded note tied to it.

    GERALDCame when you were at a meeting.Night.

    He strolls off as a curious Sara quickly unfurls the notethat reads:

    Youll know when to open it. M.

    With a shake of her head, Sara chuckles crumpling the note.

    She shrugs out of her white lab coat and gloves, ready toleave when a low beeping gets her attention.

    She pulls out a sleek palm sized device from within her

    jacket.

    SARASara Chalmers.

    The screen FIZZLES into life, showing a shaky, dimly litview of a street. The sounds of ragged, heavy breathing canbe heard before-

    A sweaty, jittery Michael comes on screen.

    Sara watches her friends image with concern.

    SARAWhat is it?

    MICHAEL(looking around)

    I found my contact- murdered. Hisassailant-I-Im pretty sure Ilost him. You got the birthdaygift I sent?

    Sara nods.

    SARAIve got-

    MICHAEL(agitated)

    Look that story it goes way pastjust Bandon. I-Ill meet you atthat bar we used to-

    The screen suddenly FIZZLES out.

    SMASH CUT TO:

    INT. MESS HALL - ISA SHIP - DAY

    Sara sighs, pushing the bowl away.

    INT. THE UNDERGROUND - TUNNEL

    The red A.S.P speeds along here. Tazul in the driversseat. Dbronze glances behind them, the white ISA truck

    tailing them is falling behind.

    DBRONZEAi, slow down. They aint gointo be able to follow.

    Tazul slows the A.S.P to a crawl before bringing thetransport to a complete stop. The vehicle hovers above theground as they wait for the humans to catch up.

    TAZULWhats taking them so long? Their

    transports arent that primitive.

    She pulls a fresh chaatu stick out from within her jacket.

    Quickly lighting it with a petite silver box.

    Tazul impatiently turns as she hears the distinctive PURRof the human transport.

    It lumbers over the uneven stone, almost caught up to thembefore it violently LURCHES to a halt. Its headlightsflicker erratically on and off.

    DBRONZEThat dont look right.

    TAZULWe should see if they needassistance.

    With that, shes immediately up and out of her seat.Dbronze quickly following her.

    Selene remains seated, enjoying a long, leisurely drag ofher chaatu stick.

    Tazul and Dbronze approach the jeep.

    TAZUL (CONTD)Ekadai, is there a problem withyour transport?

    The doors SLIDE open to reveal Bandon and his group allwearing thick goggles and breathing apparatus that obscuretheir faces.

    At this, Selenes instincts kick into high alert. Instantlydropping her chaatu stick and BLURRING over to grab Tazul.

    SHWOOOOMB!

    A bright yellow light explodes the retinas as Selene pullsTazul along mid timeshift.

    All three feratu are knocked off their feet by the SEISMICblast. Dust and dislodged rock showering them from above.

    Theres a loud HISS as thick white vapour pours out fromsomewhere, flooding the place. All three coughing violentlyas they shakily get to their feet.

    Selene scrubs at her eyes, still disorientated by the smokeand light.

    PFFT! Dbronze grunts as a dart hits him in the chest. Hestumbles to the ground. Out cold.

    TAZUL (V.O.)(CONTD)Go!

    She shoves Selene aside, taking two darts in the arm beforeslumping to the ground with a dull thud.

    Visibly torn, Selene scans through the shifting white smokeand dust. Not wanting to abandon them but unsure of how toproceed.

    Her fingers twitch just above her pistols...

    PFFT! She catches two darts aimed at her chest. A third onewhizzes past her as she BLURS to avoid it.

    SELENE(growls)

    Fressing amateurs.

    Agitated, muffled shouts echo in the cavern. She fluidlypulls her pistols and blasts away-

    Two soldiers crumple, blood spraying as theyre hit withdeadly accuracy. She takes aim, her form too fast to fully

    make out.

    BAM! A third guy falls, a gaping hole through his chest.

    SHWOOOMB! Another explosion of blinding light HITS. Herhead brutally slams against the A.S.P as another seismicblast throws her back.

    As she instinctively sinks into the safety of shadow, we:

    BLACK OUT:

    INT. THE UNDERGROUND - TUNNEL - LATER

    We PAN across the now deserted tunnel. The lone red A.S.P

    seemingly abandoned. Smeared blood the only evidence of thescuffle.

    Theres a low groan as a feminine shadow coalesces nearbyinto Selene. She steadies herself against the A.S.P, alittle unsteady still.

    Her eyes flash with cold fury as she processes whatactually happened. As she opens her jacket to reveal anaurelian shaped pin underneath, we cut to:

    Sara stands on the makeshift runway looking out at hersurroundings. Watching as a small dervish tosses the paleyellow sands of a dune not too far off.

    PRESTON (O.S.)Thought Id find you here.

    Preston sidles over to her.

    PRESTON (CONTD)(off her; surprized)

    Youre going to miss this place?

    SARAI dont know what it is...but it

    feels like-(thinks)

    When you revisit the place yougrew up?

    (shrugs)Forget it. Im crazy I know.

    Preston gently pulls her in for a soft kiss.

    PRESTONThats what I love about you.

    Sara arches an eyebrow at that.

    SARAOh, really?

    She leans in closer to Preston. Shes about to kiss him assharp BEEPING interrupts the moment.

    SELENE (O.S.)(filtered)

    If you want to continuebreathing. Fressing answer!

    Concern flickers across Prestons face as Sara hurriedlypulls her aurelian crest out from underneath her shirt.

    SARA(anxious)

    What is it?

    SELENE (O.S.)(filtered; deadly)

    With a thought I could have everyone of you pathetic humanskilled. With agonisingly slow

    deaths for you and all yourconspirators.

    SARAI dont care if you believe mebut I had nothing to do withthis. The more time we spendarguing over whose fault this is,the greater head start Bandonhas.

    SELENE (O.S.)Ill hold off on notifying Zaizelunder one condition. By the timeI reach you I want this Bandonslocation or your people will rueever landing here.

    Theres silence as she abruptly cuts communication. Saraglances up at Preston.

    SARAWeve got work to do.

    FADE IN:

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    Tazul gasps as she groggily comes to on a surgicaloperating table. Now clad in a typically flimsy whitehospital gown.

    Bandon in a white lab coat and clear face shield looks overat this with a proud smile.

    BANDONHer analysis was spot on. Thatsumetrian stun should have lastedfor another hour or so.Extraordinary.

    As Tazul attempts to move we FOCUS on the silver restraintsthat pin her arms out to the sides. Another clear restraintstretches across her forehead, holding her head in place.

    She warily glances to the tray of surgical instruments,tools and various scientific equipment, their displaysflickering on beside the table.

    TAZULWhat are you doing?

    Bandon treats her to an enthusiastic smile.

    BANDONYou and I, my dear are going tochange the fate of humanity. Yousee the chance for relativeinvincibility and immortality, issomething my superiors simplycouldnt pass up.

    TAZULYoull never achieve it. Not likethis. My people will come for me.

    Bandon looks to the tray of surgical instruments andselects a device with a slender metal drill bit. He pressesa button and the drill bit WHIRRS to life.

    BANDONAah, but itll take them time tolocate my ship. The work I do, Ineed to be outside of thosepesky, little laws binding allhuman territories.

    He approaches Tazul with the device in hand. Her eyes watchit carefully though she attempts to appear unaffected.

    He pulls aside Tazuls plaited hair to reveal the palescalp underneath, the area already prepared for whateverhes got planned.

    STAY ON Bandons face as he swiftly brings the whirringdrill bit into Tazuls head. Some blood spattering his faceshield as she screams...

    EXT. OUTER SPACE

    The echoes of Tazuls screams fade away as we focus on theexterior of Bandons ship, The Bandomeer.

    In contrast to the ISAs utilitarian workhorse spacecrafts, this is a beautifully sleeker vessel. Polished grey

    metal seems to flow in all the right places in the moreelegantly crafted ship.

    It zooms through the vastness of space.

    INT. QUARTERS - ISA CRAFT - DAY

    Sara stands, her arms crossed as she regards the threepotential informants.

    Preston slouches against the wall at the head part of thebed. While Ann and Nathan huddle together on the other end.

    SARAThe only way Bandon could knowanything is if anyone of you letslip something.

    (beat)

    I need the truth. Our livesdepend on it.

    Theres an uncomfortable silence as each of them looks tothe other, waiting for a confession.

    Nathan exhales, running his hands through his hair before:

    NATHAN(low)

    It was me.

    Ann gives him a look, its both shocked and disappointed.She moves closer to Preston on the bed.

    Preston sits up at this. Extremely interested.

    SARA(wary)

    What did you do?

    Nathan looks guilty as he meets her gaze.

    NATHANWhen we first got here, you tworushed off to meet Preston....

    FLASH TO:

    INT. TENT - ISA MAIN BASE - DAY - FLASHBACK

    Nathan pulls out Saras slim laptop like device.

    NATHAN (V.O.)And left me alone with all yourstuff.

    He turns it over and removes the back panel. Sticking atiny, flashing device to the inner components beforecarefully replacing the panel.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. QUARTERS - ISA CRAFT - DAY

    Everyone looks to Nathan as he continues his confession.

    NATHANHe said you were underinvestigation. That Id behelping them.

    Sara looks at him incredulously.

    was going on.(to Sara; unsure)

    So you two were just pretendingto be a couple?

    SARA(smirks)

    That wasnt us pretending for themost part.

    Ann deflates a little at this.

    ANNOh. So what are we going to do?

    SARA(determined)

    First we need answers. Whoselikely to know where hell be?

    INT. VIP QUARTERS - ISA SHIP - DAY

    A bigger, spacious room. More comfortable than the bare

    utilitarian quarters everyone else seems to have.

    SARA (O.S.)Danielle Spearman.

    The woman in question looks up from a desk. Shes busyscrawling on a flat digital interface. A glimpse of tinyearbuds can be seen flashing in her ears.

    A television panel that spans half the wall, playssilently. Streaming multiple channels, recorded newsfootage by the looks of it.

    Sara and Ann enter the room. Ann closes and locks the doorbehind them. Danielle warily watches them approach at this.

    Sara gestures at her desk and the television.

    SARAHate to interrupt your workreporting the truth to thevarious media outlets. But werelooking for Dr. Bandon.

    (beat; pointed)Where is he?

    DANIELLE

    Youd know. Hes off on thatlittle tour your alien friendsorganized. Isnt he?

    She smiles coyly.

    Ann SLAMS her fist hard on the desk. She winces immediatelyafter it, before:

    ANNCut the bullshit, Spearman! Weknow you know.

    DANIELLE(amused)

    Do you now? What are you going todo about it?

    (smirks)Torture me? Kill me?

    (off them; smug)I didnt think so.

    Ann gives Sara a well, what now? look.

    SARA

    ANNI wouldnt be so smug if I wereyou, Princess. Your boyfriendjust broke a hell of a lot of

    laws. So hes not going to becanoodling with you anytime soon.

    (beat)Hes not coming back to save youfrom the feds. Do the smartthing.

    Danielles smug smile falters, seeming a little less sureof herself than she was a moment ago.

    She bites her lip, quickly weighing up her options.

    INT. MESS HALL - ISA SHIP - DAY

    The place is bustling with activity, people chowing down onfood. Nathan and Preston sit down on a table at the farend.

    A man at the table looks up at this. Hes a black man inhis late thirties with short cropped hair. This is CAPTAINGADAFL.

    GADAFL

    You tried the mullastrawn stew?

    Nathan and Preston both shake their heads, no.

    GADAFL (CONTD)(shrugs)

    Pity. I think that was cookslast batch.

    He rips a chunk of bread from a half eaten roll and swabsup the last remains of a brownish red sauce in his bowl.

    Selene stalks over to the small welcoming party waiting forher. Sara steps forward as she closes in.

    SARAWeve got a lock on Bandonsship. Where hes heading and theships current proximatelocation.

    SELENECease your stalling and tell mehis location then.

    SARAOh no you dont. This is a joint

    effort. If you think Im going tojust let you loose on Bandonyoure seriously mistaken. Heneeds to be brought to humanjustice for his crimes.

    Selene leans in close to Sara, intimidatingly close. Somuch so that Nathan and Prestons hands warily hover overtheir guns.

    With that, she moves away from Sara just as quickly. Selenelooks to the others, finally acknowledging their presence.

    SELENE (CONTD)Our ships stealth and speedcapabilities easily outstrip yourown. This Bandon wont escape us.Get your people.

    EXT. OUTER SPACE

    A sleek but compact silver battleship, flies past in thistypical starscape.

    INT. BATTLESHIP

    Selenes at the controls of the ship here. Her eyes checkthe various screens as she grasps the semi-circularnavigation throttle.

    Nathan glances to Captain Gadafl and the twenty volunteers,tough looking men and women.

    All are suited up, wearing helmets and protective bodyarmour that resemble a more advanced version of riot gear.They check their various guns, in preparation.

    Preston assists Sara to adjust her helmets strap, the faceshield up as Ann fumbles with securing her body armour.

    ANNIs all this really necessary?

    SARAYes.

    PRESTONYes.

    They share a grim look at this, Anns question sparking offa shared painful memory.

    FLASH TO:

    EXT. BARNSTEIN AVENUE - NIGHT- FLASHBACK

    A small, one seater yellow cab touches down here. Saraquickly exits by swiping a grey bracelet across the door.

    Saras face registers disbelief and panic as she spies bluepolice uniforms and a flashing ambulance. A crowd gathered

    around an upmarket bar, dubbed The Fish tank.

    She hurries over, pushing herself through the crowd.

    A tough latino woman in her forties, a DETECTIVE, stopsSara as she reaches the front.

    DETECTIVEWhere do you think youre going?This is a crime scene.

    Sara scans the area behind her, where a man is placing a

    distinctive bronze button into an evidence bag.

    She flashes a badge emblazoned with the ISA crest and herimage at the detective.

    DETECTIVE (CONTD)Youve got no jurisdiction hereMiss.

    SARAI just need to know who was-

    She stops as she spots a very dead Michael being zipped upinto a body bag.

    SARA (CONTD)(soft)

    No.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. BATTLESHIP

    Sara breaks eye contact with Preston and awkwardly looksaway.

    A confused Ann picks up on their body language and throws awhats their deal? look to Nathan. Nathan shrugs as hereassembles a long barrelled gun.

    FOCUS ON Selene at the navigation controls. Her eyes flickto several screens as she rechecks something again.Satisfied, she turns to the humans.

    SELENEWe will be approaching Bandonscoordinates. Ill need to

    forcibly dock so prepareyourselves for resistance.

    NATHANThe rest of us will head to thebridge and take control of theship.

    PRESTONBandon and his people are capableof using lethal force, to preventus taking them into custody. Aimto avoid casualties as much aspossible.

    NATHANWe need to take out threats asnon lethally as possible.

    GADAFLWell try our best Nate. But notif it compromises our safety.

    The soldiers restlessly settle in their seats, itching tobe let loose.

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    An unconscious Dbronze is strapped to an operating tablein a similar fashion to Tazul.

    PUSH IN on Dbronzes face as his eyes rapidly move undertheir eyelids. It looks like hes in the midst of vivid REMsleep or its feratu equivalent.

    INT. VOICESCAPE

    There is an ethereal, gaussian feel to the place asDbronze wrenches open the door to a familiar room. Tazulsbedroom. He frantically scans the area. Its empty.

    Palpable fear crosses his features at that.

    DBRONZETazul! Im here. Please...

    Theres an unusual high pitched sound, a combination ofnails across a chalk board and the squeal of brakes.

    Dbronze clutches his head painfully.

    An image flickers in and out of existence atop the fourposter bed like a bad television set. Its Tazul. But theoutline of her is faint, distorted.

    He rushes over to the image and tries to grab it.

    DBRONZE (CONTD)Talk to me.

    At last, Tazuls image fully resolves and she collapsesinto a shivering heap. Dbronze pulls her in close for acomforting hug.

    TAZUL(child like)

    It hurts...

    DBRONZEWhats happenin? Where are we?

    Theres a subtle shift in Tazuls eyes. A look offamiliarity now as she finally recognizes him.

    TAZUL(grits)

    Doctor Bandons ship.

    DBRONZEIm sorry. Its all my fressinfault. If Id have-

    Tazul gasps in relief as it passes. She grabs Dbronzesarm to stop him.

    TAZULYou are not to blame for allthis. He-

    The loud sound of a whirring drill filters in as shescreams loudly once more, finally BLINKING out of the room.

    ACT FOUR

    FADE IN:

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    Dbronzes eyes SNAP open. He attempts to move but realizeshes strapped to the table.

    He shifts his head slightly, eyes darting to the side as hehears a familiar whirring sound.

    Dbronzes eyes flash black at what he sees:

    Bandon steps back from his handiwork, blood spatteredsurgical tool in hand.

    Electrodes are now attached to Tazuls forehead. A network

    of thin tubes and wires are inserted into her head andarms.

    Monitors display various images of brain activity and threedimensional images of Tazuls brain. Another displays theusual vitals, blood pressure, heart rate etc.

    With a ROAR of fury, Dbronze rips free of his restraintsas if they were tissue paper. He rushes off his operatingtable bench-

    SIZZZ! A shimmering wall knocks him back. A containmentfield.

    Gadafl, Preston and five volunteers are in the midst oftheir own fire fight. Twelve black uniforms take turns toduck out from their positions behind machinery anddiscarded cargo containers.

    Preston and another man, CASTOR, do the same, following hislead.

    The other four soldiers scan the room from their securepositions, their guns ready.

    BAM! A black uniformed man perched above the crates and thereach of the gas is shot in the shoulder as he takes aim atthe moving targets.

    BAM! A woman screams as shes hit in the leg trying to takea shot at Preston. Positioned at another high view point.

    Gadafl, Preston and Castor reach the cargo containers. Thearea still enshrouded in the white gas. The black uniformguards here all slumped, out cold.

    Theres a burst of gunfire that rakes the area.

    Selene silently COALESCES behind one of the guards andknocks him out with a swift elbow to the face.

    She blurs over to the next closest, before he can react shehead butts him into unconsciousness.

    Its not until shes onto the third guard, his limp bodysliding to the floor that the other two even noticeanything askew.

    Both guards rush over their guns drawn.

    GUARD # 1What the hell?!

    The other guard skittishly glances about.

    GUARD #2Where the hell did it go?

    ANGLE ON the ground where a feminine shadow mingles amongsttheir own more masculine ones.

    The two guards remain on edge, nervously looking around.Selenes shadow coalesces and solidifies right in front ofthem. Their eyes bulge, stunned at the sight.

    He hand gestures to his fellow soldiers who follow his lineof sight.

    It spins before it smacks right into the mans lap spewingthick white gas into his face. The man topples forward, outfor the count.

    Gadafl brushes himself off as he gets to his feet. WhilePreston pushes himself up using one of the containers.

    He glances to a motionless Castor. After a pause, hepainfully gets to his feet.

    CASTOR(nods)

    My armour absorbed most of it.

    Gadafl looks to all of his people.

    A spacious, open plan white walled laboratory. The lightsare dimmed here with only the flashing displays ofdiagnostic equipment splashing illumination.

    The place is deserted. Suspiciously so.

    Selene smoothly pulls her pistols as she goes, pushingahead, exploring.

    Sara warily looks around the laboratory, her hand touchingequipment as she passes.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. AREA 314 - FLASHBACK

    A creepy, dimly lit laboratory. The low humming ofelectricity can be heard as Sara carefully steps past

    massive, fogged up tanks.

    She curiously wipes away some of the moisture to reveal anindistinct spindly figure submerged in green goop. Sarastartles as the figure moves, reacting to her presence.

    She passes rows of glass containers full of various grislyexperiments.

    Sara stops at one, fascination bordering on horror,watching as an alien heart beats of its own accord insidea glass container. Two thin IV tubes of yellow liquidinserted into its reddish, yellow flesh.

    Spotting a computer terminal she tears her attention awayfrom the grim spectacle.

    Sara quickly inserts the flashing cylinder device into theport causing the screen to flicker on and a message

    appears:

    Ann tugs Saras arm to get her attention.

    Selene motions for them to be quiet as she spots somethingfurther ahead in the dimly lit place. Her eyes widen as sherecognizes what or rather who it is.

    She time shifts away, the edges of her blurring-

    SARAWait-

    Selene almost instantaneously reaches the operation table.Concern flickers across her expression as she eyes anunconscious Tazul still connected to a myriad of tubes anddiagnostic equipment.

    As she gently touches Tazuls cheek trying to rouse her-

    Theres a loud HUM as a shimmering barrier appears.Encircling the perimeter of the table. A containment field.

    An agitated Selene slams her fist into the shimmeringbarrier at that. She jerks her hand back, shocked, as:

    SARA (CONTD)(sighs)

    -could be a trap.

    BZZZT! Ann groans as something hits her with a CRACKLE. Herwhole body convulses erratically before she slumps toreveal Madrell, stun rifle in hand.

    BANDON (O.S.)Now its just you, me and Madrellhere.

    Bandon strides into view, the lights all dramaticallyflickering on in the lab as he does so.

    Sara quickly palms the device and turns-

    Coming face to face with a bald man in a dark suit whograbs her roughly around the neck.

    BAM! Sara screams out in pain, as she stumbles face first

    to the floor. Crimson starting to soak through her rightpants leg.

    REVERSE ANGLE to see the man, a slim pistol in his hand.Cold fury etched on his features.

    He coolly strides over to the fallen Sara. As he turns herapparently still form over, she SPITS into his eyes.

    Caught off guard, she manages to grab his gun anddesperately hobbles away.

    The suit scrubs at his eyes as a jittery Sara attempts totake a shot at him.

    He brutally SWATS her aside, the bullet ricocheting as sheSLAMS with a painful crack into the base of one of the

    massive tanks.

    The gun skitters across the floor, as we:

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    Sara shakes her head, picking herself up. Madrell KICKS herback down with a swift and powerful side kick to the ribs.

    She coughs, the wind knocked out of her.

    Bravely, she goes to rise again. Madrell launches anothervicious kick at her stomach. Sara weaves and manages toavoid it. Barely.

    She throws a right hook that glances off Madrells jaw.

    Sara glances at her landing place, a now blood smeared andcracked panel of switches that flicker feebly, cracklingaway.

    Teeth gritted, she drags herself away from the tank and the

    now transfixed man, blood trailing in her wake.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    Madrell grabs Saras offending arm with lightning reflexes.Forcibly bending her arm behind her back and pushing herroughly to the ground.

    MADRELL(whispers)

    Give in? Ill make it painless ifyou do.

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - ENGINE ROOM

    Nathan, Preston and several other soldiers drag heavycontainer crates to block the entrance. Other men and women

    watch their backs, on guard, their weapons at the ready.

    Gadafl and Castor stand in front of a view port, thesparkling blue brilliance of the ships core can be

    glimpsed within.

    The lights FLICKER off plunging the place into darkness.

    Sara reacts to this, desperately kicking out. One of herboots managing to catch Madrell solidly in the face.

    She dives forward as his grip on her arm loosens. Sarashands frantically scrabbling as she searches for thedropped weapon.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. AREA 314 - FLASHBACK

    The shadow of a spindly creature writhes within the greengoop. Before a piercing SCREECH from inside the tank,shatters its glass prison.

    Goop and shards spray both Sara and the man as klaxon-likealarms BLARE.

    FOCUS ON Saras fingers as they finally enclose around thegun.

    The man fearfully stumbles back from the tank, as thewaking creature finally emerges...

    A scaly, dark green spindly beast thats a bizarre mix ofdragon fly and reptile. Its massive wings flutter, shakingoff the thick goop as it seems to take in its surroundings.

    FLASH TO:

    INT. THE BANDOMEER - LABORATORY

    Saras hand grips the fallen gun as a recovered Madrellmenaces toward her.

    Sara aims the stun rifle at Madrell. With a BZZZT! She zapshim. He grunts in surprize, as his body spasms, before hecrumples.

    She vindictively kicks him on the ground.

    SARAThat ones for Ann.

    SWITCH FOCUS to Bandon who fearfully back steps as a nowfreed Selene blocks his escape. Her eyes now inky pools.

    SELENE(growls)

    What did you do to her?

    BANDONN-nothing. I-

    In a blink, Selene has him pressed up against the wall byhis throat, his legs dangling off the ground.

    SELENEYour stench is all over her.

    Her sharp fangs visible as she speaks. Bandon visibly palesas she smoothly draws a dagger with one hand while holdinghim in place.

    SARA (O.S.)Selene!

    NEW ANGLE reveals Sara is now standing behind the enragedSelene.

    With an annoyed sigh, Selene drops Bandon on his ass.

    A beautiful sunrise streaks the sky overhead as we PANacross the dusty runway. Two familiar A.S.Ps, once againdocked nearby.

    INT. ISA CRAFT - CONFERENCE ROOM - MORNING

    A larger reunion converges here. The human contingentconsisting of the ISA officials, General Forest, Sara, Ann,Preston and Nathan.

    The humans nervously look to the smaller feratu delegation.Zaizel, Selene, Dbronze and a still very pale Tazul.
