As we get closer to the holiday season, we seem to be bombarded earlier and earlier by the mass-marketing and retail madness that is called Christmas. It seems that you cannot walk in to a store the day after Halloween without getting some glimmer of Christmas. Yet as a kid, I remember having to wait an entire year for Christmas to arrive and my barely contained anticipation for Ole Saint Nick to come down the chimney and deliver the grand prize seemed to take forever. For me, growing up, Christmas was Robert Goulet, Dean Martin, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Once a year we were treated to “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” or the “Charlie Brown Christmas Special”. Now we can watch twenty-four seven if we would like. Everything is right at our fingertips. When I first saw the movie, “A Christmas Story”, it gave me such a great feeling of joy inside. You did not have to grow up in Indiana to understand what Ralphie was going through. Everyone has experienced some aspect of what he experiences in this play based on the movie. This play relives the joy, the wonder, the excitement of being a kid at Christmas time, and I believe that some elements of this show will make you think back on an experience that you may have had. Oh those times when I wanted something so bad only to hear, “You’ll shoot your eye out kid”, or at least something like that, only to wake up Christmas morning and somehow having Santa deliver. I believe this play delivers also. It delivers the Spirit of Christmas! Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy!Larry Williams

BIOGRAPHIES

CAMERON BAKER(Ralphie) Cameron is an 8th grader at Rincon Valley Middle School and has been active in their excellent drama program since last year.

His love of acting began early on when as a toddler his parents noticed his fascination with being on stage and embracing an audience. He has participated in school drama productions since kindergarten as well as acting workshops around Sonoma County. As Ralphie, he’s reprising a role he played at 6th Street in the children’s version of A Christmas Story three seasons ago. His interests include video games, science and history; not necessarily in that order. Cameron lives at home in Santa Rosa with his parents and doting canine, Hermey.

MARK BRADBURY(Ralph) Mark was born and raised in Santa Rosa and has had the honor of being in the company of the 6th St. Playhouse since they first opened

their doors in 2005. In true holiday tradition, Mark is back on the stage reviving one of his favorite roles as Ralph Parker. You may also remember him as George Bailey in last year’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life. Other recent roles include Sir Lancelot in Spamalot, Franz in The Producers and Hal in Proof. Mark looks forward to the holidays all year long and is a true believer in faith, perseverance and the Magic of Christmas.

ISABELLA BRENNER(Esther Jane) Isabella has participated in children’s theater camps and workshops since the age of seven, most notably at Main Stage West in

Sebastopol and the 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa where she acted as part of the ensemble cast, with a singing solo, in Once Upon A Mattress. In 2013, she also performed the part of Hera in The Iliad, in the Summerfield Waldorf School’s 5th grade class.

OLAYA CICCARELLI-BERMUDEZ (Helen) Olaya is incredibly excited to be with a professional theater group for the first time. Olaya was born in New York

City and moved to Sonoma County in 2006 although her heart is still on Broadway. She was inspired by the early movies of Fred Astaire, has been tap dancing since 2009 and has an abiding love for musical theater. She most recently worked with 6th St Playhouse in their youth production of Once Upon a Mattress playing the character of Lady Larken. Prior to that she performed in a multitude of roles in the Spreckels production of The Wizard of Oz. She is a 6th grader at St. Eugene’s and besides acting she loves…well, acting.

LAURA J. DAVIES(Miss Shields) Laura is thrilled to be Miss Shields again to a whole new cast of kids from Hohman, Indiana, and working with this talented cast,

crew and wonderful director. Laura was

recently seen in Novato Theatre Company’s Steel Magnolias, and in many shows here at the 6th Street Playhouse and Studio Theatre including Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Tennessee Menagerie. Last summer, she directed Art of the Matter for the Redwood Writers 10 Minute Play Festival. Laura trained for a BFA in Acting at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and has performed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area at the Chimera Theatre, Theatre in the Round Players, the Civic Theatre and the University of Minnesota’s “Showboat.”

MARIO GIANNI HERRERA (Scut Farkus) Mario is extremely happy to be joining the cast for A Christmas Story. Mario is in third grade and his

favorite subjects are science and art. Mario enjoys his karate class, voice lessons and art classes. He would like to thank director Larry Williams for allowing him to enjoy this valuable experience and his mom and dad for their love and support.

DARIO MUSSO (Schwartz) Dario is a seventh grade student at Rincon Valley Charter School. Dario has been cast in numerous school plays as well as

productions with the Playhouse School of Drama since he was six years old. Dario is thrilled to be back at 6th Street for his second holiday season. Playing Young Bert and Tommy in It’s a Wonderful Life the musical last season was a great experience for him. Additional productions include A Christmas Story youth version, Huck Finn, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Thoroughly

Modern Millie, Alice in Wonderland, The King and I and Peter Pan.

CHRIS SCHLOEMP (Old Man) Chris is a graduate of SRJC Theatre Arts and holds BA degrees in English and Dramatic Art from UC Santa Barbara, and a

Professional Screenwriting Certificate from UC Los Angeles. He has been teaching English, Film, Philosophy, Drama, and Animation at Montgomery High School for the last eighteen years. Chris has been seen in a number of roles locally, and has worked with the Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Festival, Odyssey Theatre, the Raven Players, and the 6th Street Playhouse, where he was last seen in the SBTCC-Award-winning production of August: Osage County. He most recently appeared as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Raven.

PRESTON SIGRIST (Flick) Preston is very excited to be part of A Christmas Story. He is in fifth grade and attends Santa Rosa Charter School for the Arts. This

is Preston’s second professional production at 6th St Playhouse. In 2011 he appeared in Kite’s Book. Most recently, Preston was in Once Upon a Mattress as part of 6th St Playhouse’s summer youth production. Preston would like to thank his Mom and Dad for their love and support. He would also like to thank the director, Larry Williams, for giving him this wonderful opportunity.

BIOGRAPHIESLOGAN WARREN (Randy) Logan was born on May 13, 2004, and started acting at the age of five. He is the youngest of three brothers. He first played Captain

Hook in a production of Peter Pan. Logan then followed that successful show with performances that included Professor Quirll in the Sorcerer’s Stone an Oompa Loompa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a return performance in Peter Pan, followed up by Alice in Wonderland. During casting for Kung Fu Panda, his talents were highly underestimated by the director, and he was given the part of one of the villagers. Logan decided to try his luck at The 6th Street Playhouse, auditioning for A Christmas Story, and landing the choice role of Randy!

KIM WILLIAMS (Mother) Kim is delighted to be returning to the 6th Street Playhouse stage in the role of Mother in A Christmas Story. She last appeared at 6th Street

as Julia Leverett in Lend Me a Tenor, and has been seen by North Bay audiences in such roles as Dotty Otley in Noises Off, Grace in Bus Stop and Reverend Mother in Meshuggah’ Nuns. She dedicates this performance to her two sons, Trevor and Bryce. Merry Christmas!

PAMELA ENZ (Costume Designer) Pam is celebrating her 10th year of designing costumes for Sonoma County theatres, schools and dramatic productions. She is thrilled join the Christmas Story team for a second time, and hopes that the holidays brings hope, happiness and a leg lamp to everyone who wants one!

PAUL GILGER (Scenic Designer) An architect, set designer and playwright, Paul designed the 6th Street Playhouse, the Industrial Light and Magic Film Studios for George Lucas, and the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center. Paul has designed 16 sets for the playhouse. With Nomad Productions Scenic Studios, he has designed sets for Madonna, Kenny Loggins, Crosby Stills & Nash, Carlos Santana, Alabama, Whoopi Goldberg, Anthony Newley and the Super Bowl. Paul conceived the Jerry Herman musical revue “Showtune”, which opened in NY in 2003 and is now playing in theatres world-wide. Paul is a Senior Project Architect with Hedgpeth Architects in Santa Rosa. Since 1980, he has designed over two thousand homes.

CRAIG A. MILLER (Sound Designer/Artistic Director) Originally from Peoria, Illinois, Craig received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting at the Illinois State University School of Theatre, and his MFA in directing at the University of South Carolina. Before coming to 6th Street Playhouse, he served as the Executive Artistic Director of East Window Theatre Co. in Chicago, IL (1996- 2000), served as casting associate for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (2003-05), and founded and served as the Artistic Director of The Texas Repertory Theatre Co. in Houston, TX (2005-2011). Craig has directed over eighty professional

productions at regional theatres across the United States, receiving critical acclaim in publications including American Theatre Magazine, Variety and The New York Times. As a theatre educator, he most recently served as Adjunct Professor of Theatre Arts for the Lone Star College District, specializing in acting, monologue and audition preparation, scene study, stage combat, and stage direction. Craig’s stage directing and/or sound design credits at the Playhouse include Kiss Me Kate, Kite’s Book, A Christmas Story, The 39 Steps, Proof, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Souvenir, The Producers, August: Osage County, Lend Me A Tenor, Happy, The Full Monty, Spamalot and The Rocky Horror Show.

ROSHELL PULK (Properties Master) In early 2009, she was looking to volunteer for something that peaked her interest and offered a challenge. After attending an orientation meeting at 6th Street Playhouse she began to assist with different tasks, and working on funding raising events for the Playhouse. Then she was asked if she would like to do props for a play. Roshell did not have a clue, but it seemed to be validation for all the garage sales, thrift stores and other haunts she love to frequent in search of items she deemed cast off before their time. So she began to learn to search for and create props. And once exposed to backstage through attending rehearsals and production meetings, seeing the magic of theater, she was hooked. Working with all the wonderful people involved with the 6th Street Playhouse is incredible.

EMILY STRYKER (Production Stage Manager) Emily was last seen at 6th Street Playhouse in the Studio Theater behind the spotlight, shouting inappropriate things at The Rocky Horror Show cast. She has also spent time behind the scenes at the

Cloverdale Performing Arts Center and Actor’s Theater for Children making props, quick-changing actors, painting sets, shooting starter pistols, and choreographing dances. She has seen the movie “A Christmas Story” at least 37 times.

LARRY WILLIAMS (Director) This is Larry’s directorial debut for 6th Street Playhouse, although he has directed several productions throughout the Bay Area including The Game Show, Trailer Trash the musical, The Starlight Club Goes to War, Buck and Bettie’s Chuckhouse of Fun and High School Musical. Larry was recently seen at 6th street as Clown 1 in The 39 Steps, Mr. Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor and as Roger Debris in The Producers.
