Fowler, Jr., MD LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this live activity, participants should be better able to: Design a comprehensive treatment plan for acne, rosacea, and contact dermatitis based on clinical guidelines and incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Identify the similarities in the pathogenesis, histology, and clinical presentations of warts and actinic keratosis in terms of potential targets for therapy. Describe the treatment algorithms currently in practice in the dermatology community and how they can be translated to approaching patients with both conditions. Develop a strategy for identifying cutaneous adverse reactions while treating rheumatic skin diseases. Identify potential side effects of medications used to treat rheumatic skin diseases. Identify the diagnostic criteria for focal and general hyperhidrosis. Analyze the mechanisms of action of therapeutic options for hyperhidrosis. Recognize differences between old and new versions of HPV and VZV vaccines Identify novel vaccines recently developed and approved for rare, potentially fatal diseases Advocate for vaccine development for pathogens where it has been lacking Diagnose and treat patients with psoriasis appropriately, based on current clinical guidelines. Design treatment strategies that incorporate of biologic therapies in the management of appropriately selected patients with psoriasis. Identify key patient characteristics to individualize treatment selection in patients with psoriasis. Describe evolving practices and therapeutics for molluscum in children Discuss the evolution of systemic and new topical therapies for pediatric atopic dermatitis Recognize COVID-associated acral erythema in children and changes in practice related to the epidemic Assess disease severity and impact of atopic dermatitis on the patient and family Describe new data on bathing, age indications for non-steroidal medications, and evolving indications and emerging research on topical agents for atopic dermatitis Explain emerging systemic therapies and how they may be utilized for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis Distinguish lupus from dermatomyositis on clinical grounds.
