Mass intentions: The ministry of Mass Cards is an important tradition of our Catholic faith. A Mass Card is a greeting card you give to someone to let them know they, or a loved one, will be remembered and prayed for during the Mass. Mass intentions can be offered on many occasions– for a friend or loved one, deceased or living; and even for an occasion or special intention. Each Mass may be dedicated to one person or intention. Masses are available through the year on a first request basis, come by the office for your mass intention. The suggested donation is $10 per Mass.

Youth Confirmation Please bring your books and any paperwork with you to all sessions. (Sponsor, Registration, Baptismal Certificate and fee). As for the retreat, please make sure all forms are turned into the office.
The Retreat will take place the weekend of March 18 at the Sparks Retreat House. 15523 York Road, Sparks, MD 21152, the phone number is: (410) 666-2400. We ask parents to bring their children there by 7pm on March 18. If you need a ride because of work schedules, etc., please contact the office to request one. Space is limited. Current students’ Confirmation Date is April 2, 2016 at 6pm. If you have not been attending Saturday Confirmation Preparation, which started in February 2015, the next class will start April 2016. More information on Chosen Confirmation formation that we use can be seen at www.confirmationstudy.com.
Lenten Formation occurs on Thursdays in February and March at 7pm in the Hall. This is an entire parish event. The main talks will be in English. (Light snacks and drinks will be provided, we will be looking for dinner sponsors in the future). Formation will start with the Symbolon Series on church teachings and how we practice them; then small groups will discuss the material in diverse languages, much like early Christians in the Roman empire. Groups will be formed based on demographics including golden members, young single adults, and married adults. Each group will be equipped for formation discussion and study. Each Thursday we will share and learn more about our faith and how we witness our faith to our community. We will set goals for spiritual growth, discipleship and service to the greater community. Feel free to invite a friend or family member, whether they are Catholic or not, or have been away from the Church for a while. In this Year of Mercy, let us open our hearts to peace, reconciliation and God’s abundant blessings. Although workbooks are not required, they are a great resource and will be available for purchase during the Symbolon sessions. A daytime offering of Symbolon takes place at 2pm on Wednesdays in February and March. Please sign up in the office or email Shaun - indicate if you are interested in the Wed or Thurs session.
Bible Study continues! We are studying the first real controversy the Church encountered: the neglect of the Hellenists by those who spoke Hebrew. Seven deacons were appointed by the Hellenists to take on the work of waiting on tables. Their qualifications were to be: full of the Holy Spirit, full of wisdom and of good
reputation. (Acts does not record they waited on tables!) They preached and debated on behalf of the Risen One. Deacon Stephen, full of grace and power, debated with other Jewish Hellenists and was brought before the Sanhedrin by them. Stephen's stoning death ushered in the third Jewish persecution which had the Hellenist Christians leaving Jerusalem and spreading the word throughout Judea and Samaria. See Acts Chapters 6-9.
Adult Faith Formation
What is RCIA? It is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and you don't need to be a theologian or expert on the Bible to help others know God. You just have to answer the call and be willing. If you have felt a calling to bring people to the church, please contact us to find out how you can support this wonderful and rewarding ministry. Please contact Shaun in the office to schedule a short tour and introduction of the church before looking at formation. Interested in joining the church or learning about the Catholic Faith? We welcome all those that were recently fully initiated into full communion with the Church through the sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. If you are interested in becoming Catholic or finishing your sacraments in order to come into full communion with the church, we welcome you to join us in conversation and fellowship. Join us through the Rites of Christian
Initiation (RCIA). Please signup or send an email with your name and contact info to [email protected]. Join us as we start Symbolon small groups on Thurs. All are invited, feel free to bring a friend.
During the month, Resurrection young adults (emerging adults, college age, etc.) are invited to join us in prayer, discussions and more as we listen to dynamic talks and share information with one another.
Please plan to attend on Thursday nights at 7pm in the Hall, for the small group Symbolon sessions about our faith and living it out. This will include formation groups for single men and women, as well as married couples (with or without children). Please join us for this exciting journey. Faith Formation News First Eucharist - Our First Eucharist class has resumed on Saturday mornings. Please refer to the schedule on the Faith Formation bulletin board.
Faith Formation - Classes continue this week on both Sunday morning and Monday evening. Throughout Lent, a coin collection is being taken in Faith Formation. It benefits the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Eucharistic Adoration will take place on Monday, March 7th following the morning Mass until 7pm. Spend an hour with the Lord and listen to Him as He speaks to you. Pray and meditate, be with Him for a little while.
Concert Series: On Saturday, March 12th at 7:30pm, soprano Natalie Conte and baritone Colin Johnson will present a recital of “last songs” by two of the greatest German romantic composers, Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss. The program is built around Brahms’s “Vier Ernste Gesänge” and Strauss’s “Vier Letzte Lieder.” Donations are welcome.
Yard Sale Committee Meeting: This year we will combine the Parking Lot and Parish Yard sales, which will take place Saturday, June 4th. Your help is needed to plan the event! Everyone is welcome to attend the planning meeting on Wednesday March 16th in the Magdalene room at 6:15pm.
This Lent, as you show your love and care for those in need, please take home a Lent Offering Box. All collections will be given to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Food Donations for the local, Less Fortunate: Please bring in food items that will be used to provide a healthy food basket for Easter. Donations may be brought in any time during Lent and placed in the large wicker basket. Monetary donations should be offered in a blue envelope (located in the pews), please write “Easter food”, and place in the collection basket.

Baptismal Preparation Parents and godparents who want to attend baptismal preparation classes, please call the office and register in advance. The godparents must be registered in their parish for at least six months.
Baptism: Parents are expected to attend preparation classes and be registered, active members of the community for at least 6 months. To make necessary arrangements, please call 410-792-7982.
Matrimony: Couples planning to be married should contact the parish office at least 6 months before the planned date of their wedding. All engaged couples are expected to take a Marriage Preparation Course.

Knights of Columbus News On March 15th, all are invited as Team Resurrection will hold our usual ice cream social at 6:30pm-8pm in the Hall. This is a time to get to know others in the parish, and consider becoming a knight. Upcoming Knights events are the District Free Throw Contest on Sunday and the Easter Egg Hunt later in March. Lenten Reminder: Fridays are days of Fast & Abstinence.
Those between the ages of 18 and 60 are required to Fast (one full meal & two smaller meals that together do not equal the larger meal. No food between meals.)
Those 14 and older are bound by the Law of Abstinence (refrain from eating meat or meat products such as sauces and gravy).
Small children, the elderly or the seriously ill are exempt.

¡Estudio de la Biblia continúa! Estamos estudiando la primera controversia real que la Iglesia encontró: el descuido de los Helenistas por aquellos quienes hablaban hebreo. Siete diáconos eran designados por los Helenistas para asumir la labor de espera en las mesas. Sus calificaciones debían ser: estar lleno del Espíritu
Santo, estar lleno de sabiduría y de buena reputación. (Actos no registró que ellos esperaron en las tablas!) Ellos predicaban y debatían en nombre del Resucitado. El Diácono Esteban, lleno de gracia y poder, debatió con otros Helenistas Judíos y fue llevado ante el sanedrín por ellos. La muerte por apedreamiento de Esteban marcó el comienzo de la tercera persecución judía que obligó a los cristianos Helenista a dejar a Jerusalén y a difundir la palabra en toda Judea y Samaria. Ver Hechos capítulos 6-9.
Formación de Fe Para Adultos
Ministerio de Jóvenes Adultos Durante el mes, los jóvenes adultos de Resurrección (adultos emergentes, edad de la Universidad, etc.) están invitados a unirse a nosotros en oración, discusiones y más mientras escuchar conversaciones dinámicas y compartimos en formación el uno con el otro.
Por favor planeen asistir la noche jueves a las 7:00pm en el salon para las sesiones de un grupo pequeño de Symbolon acerca de nuestra fe y como vivirla. Esto incluirá grupos de formación para hombres y mujeres solteros, así como matrimonios (con o sin hijos). Por favor únase a nosotros para este apasionante viaje. Escuela Bíblica Vacacional – por favor reservar la semana del 11 al 15 de julio para VBS a medida que vamos a una "Indagación en una Cueva".

Clases de Bautismo Los padres y padrinos que deseen asistir a clases de preparación bautismal, por favor deben llamar a la oficina y registrarse con anticipación.
Los padrinos deben estar registrados en su parroquia por lo menos 6 meses.
Bautismo: El sacramento del Bautismo se celebra fuera de la Misa. Los padres necesitan estar registrados en la parroquia por lo menos 6 meses antes y asistir al curso de preparación para Bautismo, llame al 410-792-7982.
Matrimonio: Las parejas que planean casarse deben contactar la parroquia por lo menos 6 meses antes de la fecha de la boda. Se espera que todas las parejas comprometidas tomen un curso de preparación para matrimonio.

Intención de misa: El Ministerio de Tarjetas de Misa es una importante tradición de nuestra fe católica. Una tarjeta de Misa es una tarjeta de felicitación que se le da a alguien para hacerle saber que ellos, o un ser querido, será recordado y se orará por ellos durante las intenciones de Misa. Cada Misa se puede ofrecer en muchas ocasiones – para un amigo o ser querido, muerto o vivo; e incluso para una ocasión o intención especial. Cada Misa se puede dedicar a una persona o intención.
