Instead of dividing, Yoga unites.” He was addressing the main event of the 4th International day of Yoga, which was celebrated at the Forest Research Institute(FRI) in Dehradun here today. Shri Krishna Kant Paul, Governor, Uttarakhand; Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH and Shri Harak Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand State Minister (AYUSH) also attended the event. (Contd. on last page) Shri M.J.Akbar, the Minister of State for External Affairs being shown the pre- world war - II era Japanese Binocular Telescope at Raj Niwas, by Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt. Governor, A&N Islands. This telescope is installed inside the office of the Lt. Governor and oversees the Ross Island and the entrance to Port Blair Harbour. This pre-World War-II Binocular Telescope was manufactured by erstwhile Nikko Optics of Japan (currently Nikon Corporation). It appears that Nippon Kogau K.K. was then the primary manufacturer of military optics to Japanese Imperial Government. It is believed that this Binocular Telescope was used by Admirals Teizo Hara and Ishikawa between 1942-45 during their stay at Raj Niwas to track warship movements around the harbour. The brass tally affixed on the Binoculars indicates manufacturing in "Showa 13 Month 3" (March 1938) and binoculars' number as 105. This Binocular Telescope appears to have been removed from one of the 05 heavy Cruisers (Chokai, Kumano, Suzuya, Mikuma and Mogami) of Imperial Japanese Navy which were deployed in Andaman & Nicobar Islands around that time and were reportedly equipped with such binoculars. The binocular telescope having been dysfunctional for around seven decades was refurbished in April 2018 by Naval Dockyard, Vishakhapatnam with the help of Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun. The historic binoculars have been restored to their original condition and are fully functional in all respects. Minister of State for External Affairs, Govt. of India, Shri M. J. Akbar attended this programme. The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Chief Secretary, Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, Chairperson, PBMC, Shri Indra Pal Singh, senior officers of the Administration, students, NCC cadets (Navy & Army) and general public participated in the yoga demonstration. The Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri M. J. Akbar distributed the first three prizes to the best yoga performers of common yoga protocol to Ms. Aparna, Smti Jharna Roy and Shri K. R. Shivam. He also handed over the consolation prize to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Udit Prakash Rai. Medicinal plants and meditation music DVDs were also presented to the dignitaries. Earlier, theYoga Instructor, AYUSH Hospital, Port Blair, Shri Ajit Kumar Das guided the yoga practices of different yogasanas, briefing about the benefits of each yogasana to the participants. The Indian sport of Kabaddi, which has gained international

recognition over the last few years, will travel to Dubai

this month as India get ready to compete in six-team

Kabaddi Masters competition in Dubai. The 9-day

tournament began today, at the Al Wasl Sports Club in

Dubai. India will take on Pakistan tomorrow. India are

clubbed in Group A with Pakistan and Kenya, while

Group B will feature Iran, Republic of Korea and

Argentina. Ajay Thakur will be leading India’s contingent

with a strong attacking line-up featuring the likes of

The International Cricket Council

(ICC) on Wednesday released

the men’s Future Tour

Programme (FTP) for 2018-

2023. The Council, in the

programme, has added a World

Test Championship and a 13-

team men’s ODI league that will

act as a qualification pathway for

the ICC Cricket World Cup.

The World Test Championship,

scheduled for July 15, 2019 to

April 30, 2021, will have nine top-

ranked sides participating in it. In

the inaugural edition of this

Championship, each side will

play six series on a home and

away basis against mutually

selected opponents. The two top-

ranked sides will then progress

to the June 2021 final to decide

the World Test champions.

The 13-team ODI league,

scheduled for May 1, 2020 to

March 31, 2022, will have 12

Test playing nation and

Netherlands playing eight series

on a home and away basis

ICC releases World Test Championship,

ODI league FTP for 2018-2023

against opponents they have

mutually selected.

The ODI league will serve as a

qualification pathway for the ICC

Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

India (as host) plus the seven

highest-ranked sides in the ODI

league as on March 31, 2022

will qualify directly for the ICC

Cricket World Cup 2023. The

bottom five sides will get a second

chance to qualify through the ICC

Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

India will play the World Test

Championship in July 2019

against West Indies while their

first ODI series in the league

will be against Sri Lanka in June

2020.

The structure of FTP includes

ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC

World T20, World Test

Championship and all other

bilateral Tests, ODIs, and T20Is

for 2018 till 2023.

The ICC, in a press release,

said that they focus on bringing

more context to bilateral cricket.

ICC, the global governing body

for cricket, represents 104

members. As part of the agreed

international cricket structure,

the ICC Board has already

approved an additional ICC

World T20 in place of the ICC

Champions Trophy as well as

giving Twenty20 International

Status to all 104 Members.

Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, MoS (I/C), Minister of AYUSH

during his address stated that the public health issues

and capacity of Yoga to solve them in the context of our

nation’s socio-economic conditions need to be propagated

fully. He further said that 60 representatives from various

countries are participating in Yoga Tour in India which

culminates today. Ministry of AYUSH has established Yoga

Pramanan Board to certify the Yoga practitioners and

connected organisations, the Minister informed. It has also

set-up Yoga Parks across the country to give impetus to the

practice, he further added. International Yoga Day was

celebrated all over India with many central ministers leading

2. The rates quoted should be valid for a period of one year from the date of acceptance of rate by the GM (OIC). In case the

agency attempts to default, stops providing vehicle during this period, the Performance Guarantee submitted by the successful

bidder will be kept in the custody of NABARD.

3. The rates quoted should be inclusive of fuel, maintenance, driver charges, applicable ferry charges, applicable taxes, etc.

4. The vehicle supplied should be always road worthy and restored in good running condition.

5. In case of any repair, vehicle should be replaced within 2 hours by the tenderer.

6. The bidder shall furnish self-attested copies of the following documents with the tender:

a. PAN Card;

b. Aadhaar Card;

c. Certificate of Registration & Taxi Permit;

d. Bank Account Number;

e. IFSC Code;

f. Performance Guarantee for Rs. 25000/-.

7. The driver should maintain a trip sheet duly signed by user of the vehicle and submit it on day-to-day basis at the NABARD

Office.

8. The tenderer will submit monthly Bill in duplicate alongwith Trip Sheet, Monthly Statement and State Permit of the vehicle for

payment.

9. Only commercial permit holder is entitled to participate in the tender.

10. In case of failure to fulfil the requirement of the vehicle the contract will be terminated and Performance Guarantee will be

forfeited by NABARD.

11. The agency shall not engage any sub-contractor or transfer the contract to any other person in any manner.

12. The dispatch vehicle deployed with NABARD should not be deployed for public transport during the period it is given for

NABARD duty.

13. In case of a dispute or difference, the decision of GM (OIC), NABARD will be final and binding upon the agency contractor.

14. The sealed tender complete in all respect should be submitted in the tender box of the NABARD, Port Blair on or before 3.00

pm on 30 June, 2018 and same will be opened at 3.30 pm on the same day by the purchase committee in the presence of

intending tenderers or authorized representatives, if any present.

15. The GM (OIC), NABARD reserves all the rights to accept or reject any or all tenders without quoting any reason thereof.
