MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR
One of three Veterans state they have recently considered suicide. That, according to a recentnational study, is staggering. Most agree that means even more Veterans have considered suicidesince some would never admit such a thing. This news adds some depth to the understanding of challenges America’s Veterans are facingtoday. Re-integration, the stigma of mental health and the overall feeling of loss of purpose andunderstanding in a society that is “at the mall” while the nation is still at war. Along with the reality of more than 20 Veteran suicides every single day, AMERICA must take up themission of changing these statistics. Those reading this newsletter have already joined this work insome form or fashion, and for that, we are forever grateful. (Hear directly from a few of thethousands of Veterans whose lives have been forever impacted through our collective efforts in thebrief video at the conclusion of this article.) However, studies such as I’ve mentioned here clearlyidentify the need to grow our outreach. This requires that we grow our support. For the Veterans suffering alone and in silence, we need your help. Perhaps a meaningful financialgift as 2019 comes to a close, or signing up for monthly contributions through a credit card. Butalso, will you introduce us to three of your friends? Or three of your business associates? Or threepeople you do business with? One thing we know, this peer to peer, faith based program has proven effective in saving andchanging lives. Your help is a necessity if we are going to continue to grow and increase our abilitiesto help those struggling with the unseen wounds of war. May God bless you for all you do on behalf of this great mission!

THANK YOU, GREYSTAR!
Over the past eight years, we have developed a powerful and impactful relationship with Greystar,THE global leader in rental housing. The impact this company and its awesome employees havemade upon the PTSD Foundation of America is immeasurable. Their passion to serve our Veterancommunity and our mission to save and change lives has certainly been proven again in 2019.
Greystar ’s 8th Annual BBQ Cook Off benefiting Camp Hope, with Doug Brown (our Board Chairman)leading the charge, recently took place with nearly 40 cook teams participating. In addition to somegreat companies coming together for a great time and raising awareness to the work of thisFoundation, almost $140,000 was raised! With Doug & Rick Stephanow (Board Member) spendingnumerous hours coordinating, planning and executing a fantastic event. Hundreds of volunteerhours were logged by many in the Greystar family to ensure the success of this annual event.
Along with the BBQ, Greystar operated annual awareness / fundraiser events in Los Angeles,Phoenix and Charleston. Each of these events were hugely successful in raising awareness and inraising funds. AND, many Greystar employees give through automated payroll deductions, bringingthe total Greystar financial contributions to roughly $886,000 for this calendar year!
The entire PTSD Foundation of America family wishes to thank the many Greystar family membersfor supporting this Foundation and our ongoing, growing outreach efforts to America’s Veterans andtheir families!
