Sunday’s Readings First Reading — For those who fear the name of the Lord, the sun of justice will arise (Malachi 3:19-20a). Psalm — The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice (Psalm 98). Life Is Hard, But Have No Fear

Today’s readings take a fearless look at reality and reach a conclusion that we all know: life is hard. The prophet Malachi preaches fire and brimstone, warning us that evildoers will perish in flames. Saint Paul offers his own warning to the Thessalonians: keep busy, but never become a busybody. He reminds Christians that the apostles themselves worked in “toil and drudgery” as a model for how we ought to contribute to our community. The Gospel returns to the apocalyptic tone of Malachi, describing the utter chaos of the end-times. We will know the end is near when violence, catastrophe, and hatred dominate the earth. But we must not fear! God’s saving plan brings peace to our hearts. Malachi speaks of the sun’s “healing rays,” and Jesus himself promises to protect every hair on our heads. Copyright © J. S. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

Joyful greetings to all of you and may your homes and lives and those of family and friends be filled with God’s abundant blessings.

Jesus, during this time, speaks to us through the Gospel, of being more persevering, of praying constantly with joy, of asking with faith for what we need, and of inviting us to feel sheltered by the love and grace of God.

But it is not always easy to be strong. There are many modern examples that invite us to be impatient, to not even practice any faith because it seems to be a waste of time, that nobody listens to God and perhaps many say He does not exist. In today’s time, it is the invitation to live life and take advantage of the time to search for hedonistic pleasures, which seem to be the only happiness we can get in this life. The presence of a God who comes to our aid does not seem on the horizon.

The prophet Malachi, who lives in difficult moments after the return of the people of Israel from captivity in Babylon, encourages the people by saying not to be carried away by discouragement, but to trust and wait for God to rescue them and He will make them feel His protection and blessing (Malachi 4:1-2).

Today, as we are faced with so many situations in the world which are disappointing, in politics, economy, religion and more, Jesus invites us to believe and wait. St. Paul tells us not to devote ourselves to the body, but mainly to focus on feeding the spirit, which we must work for and not simply live an easy life; we must fight with effort that is worth earning our bread with dignity, earning heaven because we have worked and with our testimony we have invited many (Thessalonians 3:7-12).

Let us take care of our spiritual life without worrying so much about the material goods, for material things are not forever. Let us be clean of body and spirit and not afraid of the appear-ance that we cannot sustain forever; we can prolong neither youth, nor beauty, nor strength as fashion teaches us, but the spirit will always be there to strengthen our thinking, joy and faith. This is why taking care of our spiritual life is something important to us as Christians - it helps us eliminate discourage-ment and the miserable destiny of sadness and loneliness.

God bless and protect you, guide your steps wisely and grant you the desires of your heart.

Are you afraid that clever people will laugh at you for being naive? When Teresa of Avila, Francis of Assisi, John Cottolengo, and John Bosco were alive, many people called them crazy, but today these "foolish" people are honored as saints. Have confidence in God and keep pressing forward toward your goal in faith.

In order to head off in the right direction on the Road of Hope, you must respond at once: "Lord, all for love of you, all for you in the person of my neighbor. I do not desire to reserve anything for myself. I do not desire anyone to thank me. I do not desire any reward."

Having examined your conscience, what should you do? You must humbly weep for your sins as Peter did, sit at the Lord's feet and return his love as Mary of Bethany, resolve to reform as Zacchaeus, and be a zealous apostle like Paul. In this way you will advance along the road filled with hope.

Chúa Nhật, ngày 17 tháng 11 năm 2019 Kính Thưa Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em,

Tôi xin được gửi lời chào vui tươi đến Quý Ông Bà Anh Chị Em, và nguyện xin cho Gia đình, Người thân, và Bạn hữu của Quý Ông Bà Anh Chị Em được tràn đầy ân sủng của Thiên Chúa.

Trong thời gian này, Chúa Giêsu nói với chúng ta qua Tin Mừng là hãy kiên trì hơn, hãy cầu nguyện liên lỉ trong vui tươi, hãy tin tưởng cầu xin cho những gì chúng ta cần, và mời gọi chúng ta hãy cảm nhận mình luôn được che chở bởi tình yêu và ân sủng của Thiên Chúa.

Nhưng không phải lúc nào chúng ta cũng dễ dàng cảm thấy vững tâm đâu. Có nhiều thí dụ trong thời đại này khiến chúng ta trở nên thiếu kiên nhẫn, thậm chí không thực hành được đức tin của mình, bởi lý do là nó chỉ làm lãng phí thời gian thôi, bởi không ai lắng nghe Thiên Chúa nữa, và bởi có lẽ cũng có người nói rằng Thiên Chúa không hề tồn tại. Trong thời đại ngày nay, người ta bị lôi cuốn vào một cuộc sống hưởng thụ, tận dụng thời gian để tìm kiếm những thú vui khoái lạc, và dường như đó lại là niềm hạnh phúc duy nhất mà người ta muốn có được trong cuộc sống này. Sự hiện diện của một Thiên Chúa đến cứu giúp nhân loại dường như không còn có trên dương thế này nữa.

Tiên tri Malachi, là người sống trong những thời khắc khó khăn sau khi người dân Israen trở về sau khi bị giam cầm ở Babylon, khuyến khích người dân đừng nản lòng, nhưng hãy tin tưởng, trông chờ Thiên Chúa cứu họ và Ngài sẽ làm cho họ cảm thấy họ được Ngài che chở và ban ân phước (Malachi 4: 1-2).

Ngày nay, khi chúng ta đang phải đối mặt với rất nhiều tình cảnh đầy thất vọng trên Thế giới, về các lãnh vực chính trị, kinh tế, Tôn giáo và nhiều lãnh vực khác nữa, Chúa Giêsu mời gọi chúng ta hãy vững tin và chờ đợi. Thánh Phao-lô bảo chúng ta đừng chỉ lo cho thân xác, mà hãy chủ yếu tập trung vào việc nuôi dưỡng tinh thần, đó là điều mà chúng ta phải luôn cố gắng phấn đấu, không phải để chỉ đơn thuần sống một cuộc sống dễ dàng; chúng ta phải nỗ lực chiến đấu để kiếm được cơm ăn trong phẩm giá, chiếm được nước Trời, và chúng ta cũng mời nhiều người cùng làm theo bằng chính cuộc sống của chúng ta. (Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca 3: 7-12).

Chúng ta hãy chăm lo cho đời sống tinh thần của mình mà không phải lo lắng quá nhiều về cuộc sống vật chất, vì vật chất không trường tồn. Chúng ta hãy trong sạch về thể xác lẫn tinh thần và không phải lo lắng là chúng ta không thể trường tồn mãi mãi; Chúng ta không thể kéo dài tuổi trẻ, sắc đẹp, hay sức mạnh, như các mốt thời trang đã dạy chúng ta, nhưng tinh thần chúng ta sẽ luôn vững mạnh để củng cố sự suy nghĩ, niềm vui, và niềm tin của chúng ta. Đây là lý do tại sao quan tâm đến đời sống tinh thần là một điều quan trọng đối với người Kitô hữu chúng ta - nó giúp chúng ta loại bỏ sự chán nản và số phận khốn khổ của nỗi buồn và nỗi cô đơn.

Chúa Nhật Thứ 33 Thường Niên - Năm C Chuẩn Bị Cho Ngày Chúa Ðến

Bài đọc 1: Ml 3:19-20 Ngôn sứ Malakia tiên báo: Trong ngày thịnh nộ của Chúa, kẻ kiêu căng gian ác sẽ bị thiêu hủy như rơm rạ, còn người công chính được sáng chói như mặt trời. Bài đọc 2: 2Tx 3:7-12 Thánh Phaolô cảnh cáo những kẻ hiểu lầm ngày tận thế gần đến mà lười biếng làm việc. Ngài khuyên họ noi gương ngài chịu khó làm việc nuôi thân, và chu toàn bổn phận đối với Chúa. Tin Mừng: Lc 21:5-19 Trong Tin Mừng hôm nay, Chúa Giêsu báo trước thành Giêrusalem tráng lệ hùng vĩ sẽ sụp đổ và sẽ có chiến tranh, loạn lạc, thiên tai, bách hại, là những dấu chỉ báo trước ngày tận thế. Cần phải tin tưởng kiên trì để được cứu thoát.

Cầu cho việc đối thoại và hòa giải tại Đông Phương. Xin cho Phương Đông, nơi các Tôn giáo đã ra đời và là nơi các Dân tộc chia sẻ môi trường sống như nhau, nảy

nở tinh thần đối thoại, gặp gỡ, và hòa giải.

THÁNG CẦU CHO CÁC TÍN HỮU ĐÃ QUA ĐỜI Sách Giáo Lý dạy: “Những ai chết trong ân sủng và ân nghĩa của Thiên Chúa, nhưng chưa được thanh tẩy cách trọn vẹn, thì tuy được bảo đảm về ơn cứu độ muôn đời của mình, vẫn phải chịu một sự thanh luyện sau khi chết, nhằm đạt được sự thánh thiện cần thiết để bước vào niềm vui Thiên đàng” (GLGHCG số 1030). “Hội Thánh gọi sự thanh luyện cuối cùng này của những người được chọn là Luyện ngục, sự thanh luyện này khác hẳn với hình phạt của những kẻ bị luận phạt.... Ngay từ những buổi đầu, Hội Thánh vẫn kính nhớ người quá cố và dâng lời cầu nguyện cho họ, nhất là dâng Hy lễ Thánh Thể để một khi đã được thanh luyện họ có thể được vinh phúc hưởng kiến Thiên Chúa. THÔNG BÁO Ý Xin Lễ Cầu Cho Các Linh Hồn trong Tháng 11: Giáo xứ đặt phong bì Xin Ý Lễ cầu nguyện cho Người thân đã qua đời ở cuối Nhà thờ, xin Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em ghi rõ tên Thánh / Họ và Tên, xin bỏ lại vào rổ quyên tiền trong các Thánh Lễ trong tháng. Ngoài ra Sách ghi danh các linh hồn thân nhân (không hình), bạn hữu, không cùng Tôn giáo để chúng ta cầu nguyện.

Xin nhớ lấy ảnh về sau các Thánh Lễ Chúa Nhật Ngày 23, 24 tháng 11 để chúng ta chuẩn bị cho Thánh Lễ Tạ Ơn.

XIN LƯU Ý Ý Lễ: Nếu ai muốn xin lễ: 1. Xin đi sớm. 2. Nếu ý lễ nghe không suông, Ban Phụng Vụ sẽ viết lại. 3. Nếu xin cho người bịnh, thì xin chỉ để Tên. 4. Domingo, 17 de noviembre, 2019 Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:

Reciban con alegría un saludo y que Dios esté con sus abundantes bendiciones en sus hoga-res y vidas, también con sus amigos y familiares.

Jesús en estos días a través del Evangelio nos habla de ser perseverantes, de orar con alegría y constantemente, pedir lo que necesitamos con fe, y nos invita a sentirnos cobijados por el amor y la gracia de Dios.

Pero no siempre es fácil ser firme, hay muchos ejemplos modernos que nos invitan a ser impacientes, incluso no practi-car ninguna fe porque parece tiempo perdido, nadie escucha y Dios quizá no existe dicen muchos. Hoy la invitación es, vivir la vida y aprovechar el tiempo en la busca de placeres que pareciera es la única felicidad que podemos conseguir en esta vida y dar culto al cuerpo. No parece en el horizonte la presen-cia de un Dios que venga en nuestra ayuda.

El profeta Malaquías que vive momentos difíciles después del regreso del pueblo de Israel del cautiverio en Babilonia, anima al pueblo diciendo que no se dejen llevar por el desaliento, que confíen y esperen en Dios que los ha de rescatar y el mismo les hará sentir su favor y bendición. (Malaquías 4:1-2)

Hoy ante tantas situaciones del mundo, que decepcionan en la política, economía, religión y más, Jesús nos invita a creer y esperar. San Pablo nos habla de no dedicarnos al cuerpo sino principalmente fijarnos en alimentar el espíritu, que hay que trabajar y no simplemente vivir una vida fácil, hay que luchar con esfuerzo que vale la pena ganarse el pan con dignidad, ganar el cielo porque hemos trabajado por eso y hemos con nuestro testimonio invitado a muchos. (Tesalonicenses 3:7-12)

Cuidemos nuestra vida espiritual sin preocuparnos tanto de los bienes materiales que nada material es para siempre. Seamos limpios de cuerpo y espíritu, no nos afanemos por la apariencia que no podemos sostener por siempre, no podemos prolongar la juventud, ni la belleza, ni la fuerza como nos enseña la moda, pero la del espíritu siempre estará allí para fortalecer el pensamiento, la alegría y la fe, por eso cuidar la vida espiritual es algo importante como cristianos, que nos ayuda a eliminar el desaliento y el destino miserable de la tristeza y la soledad. Dios les bendiga y proteja, guíe con sabiduría sus pasos y les conceda los deseos de su corazón.

La Vida es Dura, Pero No Tenemos Miedo

Las lecturas de hoy toman una mirada valiente a la realidad y llegan a la conclusión que todos sabemos, la vida es dura. El profeta Malaquías predica fuego y azufre, advirtiéndo-nos que los malhechores perecerán en llamas. San Pablo ofrece su propia advertencia a los tesalonicenses: manténganse ocu-pados, pero nunca en entrometidos. Él recuerda a los cristianos que los mismos apóstoles hicieron “trabajos pesados y peno-sos” como un modelo de cómo debemos contribuir a nuestra comunidad. El Evangelio regresa al tono apocalíptico de Mala-quías, describiendo el caos total del final de los tiempos. Sa-bremos que el fin se acerca cuando la violencia, las catástrofes y el odio dominen la tierra. ¡Pero no debemos tener miedo! El plan de salvación de Dios nos da paz a nuestro corazón. Malaquías habla de los “rayos sanadores” del sol, y el mismo Jesús promete proteger cada cabello de nuestras cabezas. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Tradiciones de Nuestra Fe Aproximadamente en 1589 los colonizadores de Ecuador quisieron tener una patrona para su territorio y pidie-ron al artista, Diego de Robles, una imagen de la virgen de la Presentación. Cuando el escultor quiso entregar la imagen, quienes la ordenaron no pudieron pagar. No sabiendo que hacer con la imagen la vendió a un grupo de indígenas Oyaca-chis por unos tablones de cedro fino. Los Oyacachis recono-cieron en la imagen a la Señora que se les había aparecido en una cueva prometiendo proteger sus niños de unos peligrosos osos en la zona. En 1604, los indígenas cristianizados entrega-ron la imagen al obispo quien la instaló en la iglesia del pue-blo de Quinche. Es interesante como esta virgencita comisionada por españoles pasa a manos de los nativos. Ella misma y el Niño Dios que carga en brazos son de aspecto mestizo, con ojos asiáticos. Diego de Robles la había diseñado pensando en el nuevo pueblo que vendría del mestizaje de los europeos con el pueblo nativo. “La pequeñita”, como la llama su pueblo, pudo unir en si misma la diversidad de su hijos. —Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, © Copyright, J. Invitamos a la comunidad a compartir con el Grupo de Oración Resurrección y Vida todos los miér-coles a partir de las 7:00 pm en la iglesia. Nos reunimos para aprender más de la pala-bra, dar gracias a nuestro Padre Dios por las maravillas que hace, venimos a ofrecerle ala-banzas y también tenemos conferencistas que los invitamos a darnos testimonios de fe, es-peranza y caridad.

Quitando el Altar del Recuerdo

Por favor después de la Misa de este fin de semana, puede llevarse las fotos de sus seres queridos que las trajo para honrrarlos durante este mes de noviembre. El Altar será quitado el lunes.
