Wear your swimsuit under your clothes. Bring a layer for warmth if youthink you need it. Wear hiking shoes-rock trail going down to the creek. Some big steps. Half a mile down and back up. Bring water and snacks.First, a warning: Walking through the trails around the various pools ofTanque Verde Falls, you might see some unexpected sights. Naked peo-ple. The Reddington Pass area in the Rincon Mountains east of the cityis a haven for nudists, so the sight of someone wearing a hat, hikingboots and nothing else (although let’s hope lots of sunscreen) isn’t su-per uncommon. Even if you’d prefer to keep your clothes on, the poolsof this area are a great sight and some of the waterfalls are around 100feet tall. More serious warning: jumping from adjacent rocks into thepools is a bad idea, due to unexpected submerged rocks and surprisingcurrents. This is a rugged terrain! guys!

Jim at Apache ATV explained that they make atleast 6 stops. They even stop half-way through at a real bathroom. This is not quiteAlaska style. The stops include a historical outpost, a cute critter haven, plenty of photography opportunities, and stops under Cottonwoods that were here long before white men. Bring at least two bottles of water, yourlunch, snacks, and layers and layers of clothing for higher elevation. He has plenty of storage on the ATVs, sopack your bags. The trail ride is from 10 - 2.
