Under the Federal Drug Paraphernalia Statute, which is part of the Controlled Substances Act, it is illegal to possess, sell, transport, import, or export drug paraphernalia as defined.

Turn any firm fleshed fruit or vegetable into a disposable smoking pipe. Move slowly as you gouge the produce from the top to create a conical cavity running three-quarters of the way to the bottom. Remove the stem and any seeds that come loose. Any plant matter left behind in the cone will cause it to clog during use. Flat spots on the side of the produce are the best place to create a seal with your lips for good suction. Pierce your firm fleshed fruit or vegetable with your thin knife starting at this flat point on the side and end at the base of cone-shaped cavity. Twisting the knife will clear a narrow tunnel. Look for a narrow bronze or copper length of pipe and thread on a flange fitting that will work as a bowl. This is the part of your pipe that will come in direct contact with the flame, and it will need to be able to handle the heat. Once inserted, your stem should rest in the bottom of the bottle and protrude diagonally through the bottle. Silicone caulk will give you an airtight seal around the exit point for the stem.
