How can our systems support all citizens without having to be an exceptional member of your race? Addressing racial and ethnic inequities are not a modern phenomenon or isolated to just the United States. Are there successful historical or geographical examples of getting this right? Ultimately, what is your role in leading or becoming an ally to action for greater racial equality in our social systems? How can we act as individuals and collaboratively as we lead toward justice?

ASPEN, COLORADO

Optional - Deep Dive Dialogue: Leading Systemic Change

Everyone at the Action Forum is a “doer”. Each of us is tackling a societal challenge through our work, our Action Pledges, our Fellowship ventures, or our volunteer efforts. These challenges do not exist in a vacuum – they are part of a complex system of interrelationships and interdependencies. This Deep Dive Dialogue is intended for business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, governments and philanthropies to explore achieving systemic change. What does it mean to attain large scale system change? How can these groups work well together in shifting the current equilibrium and achieving such change? Where have we been successful in leading systemic change? What are our experiences that are worth sharing? What can we learn from our failures? This Deep Dive Dialogue is offered in partnership with The Skoll Foundation.

Optional - Deep Dive Dialogue: The Future of Talent & Work

The “Uberization” of the labor market has impacted people in both positive and negative ways. While digital platforms have dramatically increased the ability to match contract employees directly with employers and clients, it also pulls them from the traditional business model with employee protections, benefits, etc. As leaders, what is our responsibility to the growing pool of “Gig Workers”? How do we prevent Gig Workers from becoming second class citizens in our society? What does the future look like for the talent and work at your business? This Deep Dive Dialogue is sponsored by Care.com, Dell, and Workday.

Optional - Deep Dive Dialogue: Race in America: Can we talk?

We all have conscious and unconscious biases which lead to discriminatory actions. Knowing that there is no “immaculate perception”, what biases frame your own thinking, actions, and leadership at home, at work, and in life at large? How have biases throughout history shaped the systems within our society such as education, health and wellness, politics, finance and access to opportunities to be a successful entrepreneur? How can our systems support all citizens without having to be an exceptional member of your race? Addressing racial and ethnic inequities are not a modern phenomenon or isolated to just the United States. Are there successful historical or geographical examples of getting this right? Ultimately, what is your role in leading or becoming an ally to action for greater racial equality in our social systems? How can we act as individuals and collaboratively as we lead toward justice?
