The 79th Alumni banquet and reunion of the Hastings High School was held the evening of June 11, 1966 at the Leason Sharpe Memorial Hall in Hastings. The invocation was given by Reverend Wesley Manker, class of 1941. following the dinner served by Mrs. Gary Cooper, the business meeting was conducted by Duane Jarman, president of the Alumni board of directors. The roll of classes was taken with 213 responding. Special guests included Mrs. Edward Goodyear end Mrs. Fraser Ironside, former Hastings teachers. Georgia Heath Gilson was the oldest alumnus in attendance and was presented witi a certificate of honor. The secretary read the report of the 1965 meeting. Maurice Greenfield read the treasurer's report. Francis Goggins and Elizabeth Doster Nevins were presented as new board members and were accepted for a three year term. Duward Cain of the class of was introducted as toastmaster who in turn, welcomed the class of 1966. Greg Webster in his response for the class of 1966, stated 52% were going on into college. For the silver anniversary class of 1941, Bernard Whitmore spoke and concluded that Hastings has good schools, is a good place to be and a good place to call home. Mildred Keic hum Houston of the class celebrating 50th anniversary of graduation, spoke for her classmates and remarked that they have lived to see many great achievements made in the world and were glad to have been a part of it. Mr. Cain presented the "Alumnus of the Year " Award to Dr. Gordon Finnic. of the class of 1950.

graduates to our alumni and urged them not to confuse speed

with progress; nothing worth while will come to you easily;

but don't let failure over whelm you, try to learn from it.

Meeting was declared adjourned and the balance of the evening

was spent renewing old friendships.
