Design & Construction Redefined

The Home & Building Show is a hub of design and construction where the key manufacturers, suppliers, products, design and technologies all meet under one roof. From residential complexes to commercial spaces, innovation and excellence have set new standards for high-quality materials, aesthetic design and superior technology. Building on the success of previous editions, the redefined 7th edition will cover the show floor with dedicated product sectors keeping the flame of excellence and innovation alive and paving larger and wider paths for the design and construction industry.

Whether it is self-build, renovating, extensions or conversion projects, the expo will be brimming with bright ideas on how to design and build a sustainable home or building. The show being a perfect place for showcasing quality products in the construction and design industry, visitors will have the opportunity to discover and explore hundreds of brands exhibiting a vast range of products for their new or mid-way projects.

Why Oman?

Oman’s geographical location has placed it as business and logistic hub for traffic across continents of Europe, Asia and Africa. According to Alpen, sultanate’s population is expected to achieve a CAGR of %3.7 between 2014 and 2019, which is likely to make it one of the fastest-growing countries in the world. A Deloitte C-suite survey reported in its 2015 GCC Construction sector review that Oman is one of the most promising countries in the region in terms of tender opportunities. As per Deloitte’s 2015 report, the total value of projects planned and under construction in Oman stands at RO 62.9 (USD 163.5bn).

The Omani construction industry in 2016 remains robust, despite the downside risk created by lower oil prices. A strong pipeline of public projects, and sustained private demand for high-quality real estate projects, are likely to help sustain momentum.

Home & Building Show 2017 will be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), the new venue for major trade shows and high-profile conferences in the Sultanate. The Centre is located in the Hayy Al Ifran district, only four kilometers from Muscat International Airport. The Centre features an elaborate tiered auditorium to seat 3,200 while the exhibition halls will feature 22,000 square meters of column-free exhibition space. Hall Nos. 1 and 2 have a superior fit out, specialized acoustic treatment, advanced lighting and rigging requirements to act as a multi-purpose space for plenary sessions, concerts, performances, gala events on a larger scale of up to 10,000 seated, theatre-style.
