The TRBC Choral Summer School, August 2020 Take a break in August 2020 and join us for the seventh TRBC Choral Summer School where choral singing will be at the heart of everything. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth, our study works are Beethoven’s Mass in C and the Choral Fantasia (for which our piano soloist will be Maria Marchant); Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. completes the programme. You will also benefit from coaching in choral technique (tuning, sight-singing, blend, breath control), lighter music and part-songs. Warwick University campus is a wonderful landscape, imaginatively designed, and a great place to relax; it’s also within reach of some of England’s most renowned cultural sites.

Those taking part in the TRBC Choral Summer School in 2020 will:

sing daily with Brian Kay, rehearsing the main choral works; perform in Birmingham Town Hall with the English Symphony Orchestra; explore other areas of choral singing in afternoon workshops with Chris

Finch (a prepared music booklet will be provided, at no additional cost); enjoy comfortable accommodation and delicious meals on the attractive

Warwick University campus.

There will be an optional excursion to the Royal Shakespeare Company , with details and prices advised in March 2020. Or you can take the opportunity to explore for yourselves the many wonderful ‘Heart of England’ attractions.

The basic price of £969 per person includes five nights’ accommodation in a standard single room*, all meals and refreshments (taken in the University’s Rootes Building), on-campus entertainment devised by us, and full participation in our musical activities, the timetable for which will be available in March 2020. Non-residents who arrange their own accommodation will receive a discount of £169 per person (the non-resident price includes all meals apart from breakfast). A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your place, and the balance will be payable no later than 15 May 2020.

*Standard rooms are single study-bedrooms (with nearby bathrooms and toilets), and you are welcome to request adjacent rooms on a first-come, first-served basis (subject to availability); please indicate this on your booking form. Single en-suite rooms can also be reserved for a supplement of £153 per person. We also have a small allocation of en-suite twin-bedded rooms. En-suite double rooms are available in the Conference Centre.
