The 8th China International Tourism Commodities Fair Rounded Off Successfully, Providing New Tourism Experience
As the leading trade fair for the tourism
commodities and consumptions in Asia, the 8th
China International Tourism Commodities Fair
(CITCF) came to a successful close in Yiwu
International Expo Center on May 27, 2016. With
the theme of “Smart Travel with Stylish Gadgets”,
this year’s Fair has made steady growth in aspects
of exhibitor participation and product quality.
2031 international shell schemes were set and
1,305 leading enterprises from 27 countries and
regions such as the United States, Sweden, France,
Thailand, Burundi, Argentina, Sri Lanka, the Czech Republic, the Philippines, Germany, South Africa, Sudan,
Comoros, Cameroon, Senegal, Ethiopia, Uganda, Guinea-Bissau, Tanzania, Kenya, Mali, Madagascar, Japan,
Singapore, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan gathered within a display area of 50,000 sqm. Five halls
were especially rolled out for this year’s fair. Specifically, A1 Hall for environmentally-friendly tourist
toilets; B1 Hall for provinces and cities to showcase their tourism resources; C1 Hall for thematic
showcasing; D1 Hall for outdoor supplies and souvenir; E1 Hall for log cabin, caravan, camping equipment
and experience. During the four-day fair, professional buyers from 78 countries and regions visited, the
total visits exceeded 100,000 and closed deals totaled RMB 3.612 billion Yuan.
Concurrently, the Seminar on Chinese Toilet Revolution 2016 held jointly by China National Tourism
Administration, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. have
highlighted the Fair with strong lineup of high-profile guest speakers and professional discussing topics.
The CITCF 2016 is sponsored by China National Tourism Administration and People's Government of
Zhejiang Province, and jointly organized by China Tourism Association, Zhejiang Tourism Bureau, Yiwu

Win-win Cooperation Creating Excellent Achievements
Following the principle of “market-oriented operation supplemented by administrative promotion”, the
organizers had invited Hannover Milano Fairs to jointly organize the fair since last year, which created a
new pattern for exhibition operation based on a market-oriented approach to promote a better
development and further improve CITCF’s professional, international and brand building standards.
During this year’s fair, the organizers once again enhanced the whole pattern with the latest concept,
most professional display and most excellent service. 2031 international shell schemes were set in the
five halls, which was a slight increase compared with last year. Overseas exhibitors from 27 countries and
regions as well as leading enterprises from 31 provinces, cities or districts and Xinjiang construction corps
displayed in halls for environmentally-friendly tourist toilets, provinces and cities, thematic showcasing,
outdoor supplies and souvenir, log cabin, caravan, camping equipment and experience. CITCF not only
provided a new platform for tourism commodities display and consumption, but also highlighted the new
tourism technology, industry format and tourism products.

high-tech tourism toilets products and technologies, and spared no effort to carry toilet revolution
through”! In addition to traditional company presentations, the First National Toilet Technology
Innovation Contest was also held in Pavilion for tourist toilet and conferred Excellent Case Award,
Excellent Idea Award and Overseas Excellence Award. 21 award-winning enterprises made their debut
and showed visitors air-impact, solar, foam-type and other toilet solutions with their demo displays.
In addition, German Pavilion, Argentine Consulate, South African Tourism Authority, Philippine Tourism
Bureau, Burundi Tourism Bureau and other national consulates and tourism bureaus have also brought
their tourism resources and products with local characteristics. Some well-known exhibitors include:

6,000-sqm camping area was also established for
the first time, rolling out 3D lawn, gravel, fence
and other scenes, which arranged for real version
of the base camp and gave all visitors immersive
and cool camping experience! During the fair, the
organizers also invited Chinese RV traveler,
Professor Wang Renhe to share his unique travel
experience in RV Vacation Salon, winning the
presence of most RV fans.

In-depth Discussion of Toilet Revolution
CITCF Toilet Seminar, which was held last year for the first time and triggered industry-wide debate, was
officially renamed “Seminar on Chinese Toilet Revolution 2016” and for the first time joined hands with
China National Tourism Administration and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for co-sponsorship.
Nearly 30 experts and professional audiences at home and abroad made their presence and exchanged
views on the theme of "Technology, Ecology, Culture and Tourism".
Three heavyweight guests, Liu Jinping, Party Member of China National Tourism Administration, Brian
Arbogast, Director of Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Program of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Jack
Sim, Founder of the World Toilet Organization gave opening addresses. The seminar consisted of “Review
of China’s Toilet Revolution Practice, experience and result”, “Soul of Toilet Revolution: Technology
revolution and management revolution” and “Be Good on Your Own, and Share with Others: Chinese and
foreign friends join hands to promote world toilet revolution”. Main guest speakers including Yang
Zhenbo, Director of Water and Sanitation Department of UNICEF China, Sylvain Usher, Executive Director
of African Water Association, Chua Hung Meng, Executive Director of World Toilet Organization,
Ousseynou Guene, Senior Expert on Sanitary Facility from African Development Bank, Arouna Traore,
Director of Water & Sanitary Facility Department, Senegal and Atsushi Kato, Chairman of NPO Japan Toilet
Labo discussed warmly around toilet-related topics and made effective results, providing a guide way for
the next strategic step of domestic toilet revolution.
In addition, a series of colorful activities such as Beer Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival Day, WeChat

drinking, playing, enjoying and traveling!
Strong Lineup of Buyer Delegations with All-round Coverage from Media
Organizers made full use of worldwide network coverage of advantaged channels and buyer database to
precisely invite end-buyers from 78 countries and regions to attend the Fair for trade and business.
Professional buyers include: Ugandan Diplomatic Corps in China, Senegal Diplomatic Corps in China, five
provinces of East China and Middle Eastern buyer group, etc. The four-day fair achieved closed deals
totaling RMB 3.612 billion Yuan.
National mainstream media and professional media including CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily,
Economic Daily, Wenhui Daily, Sino, Tencent and ifeng made news coverage for this grand event. The
official Wechat, Weibo and other new media platforms also released official first-hand information,
exhibition updates and colorful activities in real time!
Though the efforts of all parties, the 8th China International Tourism Commodities Fair closely followed
the purpose of “Promoting Tourism Commodity Innovation and Impelling Tourism Commodity Trade” and

the leading trade fair for the tourism commodities and consumptions in Asia, and breaking new ground
for trade and business in Yiwu! The next edition will be held in Yiwu in May 2017.
