Payroll is a challenging and ever changing responsibility. With frequent updates to existing legislation and the Government’s ‘Good Work Plan’ set to bring additional amendments, payroll can often seem a little overwhelming.

So what does BACS Approved actually mean?The BACS Approved Bureau Scheme is a computer bureau that submits transactions through the BACS service on behalf of third party organisations.

What requirements did we have to meet?A BACS Approved Bureau inspector came on site to perform a thorough review of our location, processes and systems. We were assessed on numerous categories, such as organisation and policy, physical security and our computer facilities and networks.

Why is it important to choose a BACS Approved Bureau?Choosing a BACS Approved Bureau comes with a number of benefits. First of all, BACS Approved means that our Bureau can pay your employees on your behalf, ensuring that each month all you need to do isapprove your employees’ pay. Secondly, our Bureau has been vetted by a BACS inspector, confirming that we adhere to the highest standards of data security and understand our responsibilities as a data processor. Furthermore, we maintain compliance with current GDPR legislation, which in turn keeps your organisation’s payroll processes on the right side of the law.

B is forBACS Approved Bureau

IRIS is a BACS Approved Bureau, which means that we can pay your employees on your behalf via BACS.

Each organisation receives their own dedicated Account Manager to run their payroll. Our experts are highly qualified and together, they boast a combined experience of over 100 years!

If you have any questions, or simply need tomake a change to your payroll run, just pick up the phone and give them a call.

Your Account Manager will always keep you in the loop – if they’re away, they’ll let you know who’s taking over whilst they’re gone, so you never need to worry about what’s going on with each monthly payroll run.

Holiday Pay calculations have been changed. But don’t worry, we can handle it all for you.

As of April 2020, the way Holiday Pay is calculated has been changed with the reference period for Holiday Pay calculations increasing from 12 weeks to 52 weeks.

What this means for your payroll is you need to ensure the new way of calculating Holiday Pay is in place. This is no easy or simple task and requires a lot of work on behalf of the payroll team.

The report will cover how much each employee is being paid and contributions to their pension and to HMRC. Once you’re happy with the information, and you approve the payroll run, we will process your payroll and submit the relevant information to HMRC and The Pensions Regulator.

Before we process your payroll, we’ll send you a report for youto approve – just to make sure everything is perfect.

Do you find Payroll Year End overwhelming?

Even if you just don’t fancy doing all the paperwork – our IRIS Fully Managed Payroll service is for you. We’ll complete your Year End requirements and send them directly to HMRC.

When we take over your payroll run, we also take over your reporting requirements. With over 40 years of experience in payroll, and our team of CIPP Accredited Payroll Managers at the helm of our operations, you can be confident that we will expertly navigate Year End on your behalf.

The online delivery portal is compliant with current GDPR legislation and provides a secure way to deliver your employees’ pay information each month.

How does it work? Once your payroll run has been completed, our Bureau team will

publish your employees’ payslips to the IRIS OpenPayslips software. From there, youremployees can access current and historic payslips in their personalised portal via the IRIS OpenPayslips App. Payslip information is accessible 24/7, and employees are able to print payslips if they need. It’s a simpler and much more effective way to get your employees’ payslips over to them.
