The Amazing Spider – Man is the Journey of Peter Parker on a road journey in becoming a hero in

the city of Manhattan. The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel

Comics character Spider-Man. It is the fourth installment of the Spider-Man film series, serving as a reboot The

film was directed by Marc Webb, written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves, and

stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin

Sheen and Sally Field. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures.

The Amazing Spiderman is a hero movie about a teenager Peter Parker who got bitten by a radioactive spider

at a lab and later on realized he had the senses of a spider and was able to climb on walls. On the other hand

we have his science Dr Conner who was working on a medicine that could generate limb from species. He was

currently testing he’s work on animals then decided to test it on himself. The changed he’s personality and

totally transformed him from a human to a lizard, he’s objective was to create more of the medicine to spread

and infect the people in New York.

Applying the Hero’s Journey to The Amazing Spiderman, as the first journey Peter Parker is introduced to an

ordinary complicated world as of when he was a kid he lost both his mum and dad and had no choice but to

live with his Nan and granddad – uncle ben. At college Peter Parker was referred to as a non – cool kid who

also had he eye on Gwen Stacy. All heroes need a mentor, someone that can guide then and teach them the

way but then later on could be able to stand on their own. The mentor in this movie who protected Peter

Parker and told him what was the right thing to do and what wasn’t – was his Uncle Ben. Since Peter’s parents

passed away Uncle Ben was view viewed more of a father figure to Peter. Although he passed away Ben left a

quote which Peter followed even when he became a hero “with great power comes great responsibility”, this

could also be seen as The Ordeal.

After being bitten by the spider – Peter Parker is called to an Adventure as a hero; The Amazing Spiderman

does this in a way that Peter parker is forced to go seeking revenge on the killer of his uncle. This is when the

hero is being born. He is then leaving the ordinary life and moving unto an unstable ground, were he has to

follow an unfamiliar rule which means he can’t kill any anyone.

Spiderman is the tested in the special world knowing who are his allies and enemies. His first test was at the

point when he met the lizard for the first time also had to save civilians that were in vehicles.

At the end of the movie Spiderman saves the day7 from the lizard spreading contaminating New York. After all

that’s done the hero returns to saving the work carrying the power that can transform the world.
