What is ArcGIS Online

• ArcGIS Online is an open data platform for maps and geographic information. It allows geographic information to be delivered as simple, intelligent maps and information feeds.

• With ArcGIS Online users can upload and style geographic data, create web maps, interact with maps on any device and embed maps into websites or into web-based applications



The commercial benefit

• ArcGIS Online and/or Portal for ArcGIS will be made conditionally available at no additional cost for all customers under maintenance

License entitlement business rules

• Customer’s ArcGIS Online Organization Plan will include one named user for each Desktop license regardless the type (SU/CU) and the license level (Basic/Standard/Advanced)

• Each named user will get 100 service credits

• Customers with an ArcGIS Advanced server (Enterprise/Workgroup) are entitled to a Portal for ArcGIS. Each Desktop license will represent one named user



Specifications to get on board

• Customer must choose how to allocate his Desktop licenses (AGOL or Portal)

• Additional named users can be purchased on top of the entitlements without the need to purchase additional Desktop licenses

• The named users are for Desktop users only and are nontransferable

• Customers currently not on maintenance will get the same benefits after they went “Back in Maintenance”

Some cases - 1

• Company X does not have an ArcGIS Online Organization Plan

• Company X has 5 ArcGIS for Desktop Basic Single Use licenses on maintenance

• Company X is entitled to an ArcGIS Online Organization Plan with 5 Named Users and 500 service credits



Some cases - 2

• Company X has an ArcGIS Online Organization Plan Level 2 (50 named users with 10.000 service credits)

• Company X has:- 5 ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced CU licenses

- 10 ArcGIS for Desktop Standard SU licenses

• Actual ArcGIS Online Organization Plan of company X will be updated automatically with 15 additional named users + 1500 additional service credits

• Company X does not have an ArcGIS Online Organization Plan

• Company X has 3 ArcGIS for Desktop Basic Single Use licenses on maintenance

• Company X wants to have 15 named users within the ArcGIS Online Organization Plan

• Company X is entitled to an ArcGIS Online Organization Plan with 3 Named Users and 300 service credits and needs to buy 3 additional 5-packs or he can lift up his Organization Plan to the next level

What are service credits?

• ArcGIS Online is based on an annual subscription with flexible plans you can choose from. Each plan includes a number of named users and service credits. Service credits are the currency for ArcGIS Online and are used in exchange for any of the hosted services an ArcGIS Online subscriber uses.

How to obtain my AGOL Organization Plan or Portal for ArcGIS?

• Contact your Esri Belux account manager or your normal business contact if you are interested

• Together we will define the optimal setting (infrastructure, # users, starting kit, coaching ) and provide you with the appropriate activation codes and activation manual
