  • Completed Work

    Here are examples of my completed artworks in a variety of mediums. Many of these works focus on my understanding composition, anatomy, color, style, and creative use of variety of materials.

  • Self-Distorted PortraitCompleted May 2014

    Done on 18x24 BFK Rives Paper. Soft pastels.

    This artwork was inspired by the works of Salvador Dali. From observ-ing how Dali used space, the human form, and color, I created this self-por-trait as a distortion of myself. I also experimented with color by blending complementary colors red and green to create shade in this character.

    Done on 18x24 Drawing Paper. Soft pastels.

    Sunflower Still life based on unusual angles. This was an attempt to create an interesting still life drawing from a mundane setup.

  • Griffion ForestCompleted 2012Diorama made from paper, hard board, and wire. 13x9.5 in.This diorama is made to sit on an open macbook computer. A video of a forest is to play in the background on the screen. The diorama is a study on depth and proportion.

  • The Time TravelerCompleted 2013Diorama made from paper, hard board, and wire. 13x9.5 in. Based on H. G. Wells book The Time Machine (1895). The crab design is inspired by the coconut crab, a large crab that lives on the islands of the Pacific. The color scheme was inspired by a description of the dead future earth from the book.

    Here are examples of my sketches and process work. These drawings show how I arrive at a finished drawing or problem solve any issues in my artwork.

  • Dancing Bird Process: Sketch to final2014Done in Photoshop CS6 Practice base on creating a composition centered around a character and bring it to completion. These are the first three beginning stages: sketch, thumbnail composition with fleshed out character, and sketch back-ground.

These next drawings show my progress to prepare the background for inking and flesh out the shape of the tree, leaves, and other foliage.

    Completed in Photoshop.

    Final version. Focus on line weight and visual depth. This final version have the bird character fully inked in detail. The trees in the background are faded to prevent over powering the foreground and the bird.

  • Window Washer Poster2015Done in Photoshop CS6 and KritaProgress poster design for The Window Washer short film. This poster was an challenge in creating a work-ing perspective of the building and the characters from a up shot angle.

  • Vlod the God of Thieves: Sketch and Lineart2014The sketch is traditional 0.5 pencil. The Line Art version was done in KritaFocus on creating an interesting character inspired by my personality. Vlod is a god of theives and trade and her character design was inspired by Mayan mythology and art.
