THE ARTS, THE CRAFTS THE HISTORY, THE FUNA CULTURAL VILLAGE. The complete Irish and Celtic experience, from art and music to dance and crafts. This is Ireland on the lakefront. Enjoy the theater, learn to speak Irish and visit the Roots and Pub stages with a special emphasis this year on the Brian Ború Millennial Celebration.

MOORE STREET MARKET. The finest in Irish tweeds, weavers from Donegal and a basket weaver from the Aran Islands will display their goods. Browse the handmade jewelry, block prints, shard art and more.

BRIAN BORÚ MILLENNIAL CELEBRATION. Irish Fest will join commemorations taking place across Ireland this year celebrating the first modern ruler of Ireland, Brian Ború Dalcassian who was victorious in the Battle of Clontarf in the year 1014. Genealogists, historians, music experts, bow makers and chefs will present medieval exhibits, talks, and demonstrations throughout the Cultural Village and the entire grounds.

GENEALOGY AND LITERARY CORNER. Expert genealogists from Ireland and the U.S. will be here to answer your questions, help you trace your ancestors and answer why and how they came to America. The Literary Corner is the place where invited authors can meet their readers and sell their books.

HEDGE SCHOOL. Offering a series of lectures given by leading authorities and government representatives on Irish history, music, literature and today’s government.

ARCHIVES GALLERY. Be sure to visit the archives area for an exhibit on Casey at the Bat: The Irish in Baseball; and The Fighting Irish: The Irish in Boxing; and our annual photo contest!

SUMMER SCHOOLThe Irish Fest Summer School, a big fan favorite, is celebrating its 28th Anniversary! Held at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) August 11-15, it gives you a classroom experience in dance, music, culture, language and the art and craft traditions of Ireland. Classes are taught by world-class experts and performers – including instructors from Ireland. They will show, teach, and answer all of your questions. Visit irishfest.com to register!

FREE CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVALA GREENER PLANET. Play Super-Hero Bingo with hands-on environmental activities. Take home a Super-Hero Coloring Book and make environmental practices a fun and everyday part of your life. Create Super-Hero Gear by turning trash into art. All at our unique Greenwish Village. All the green thinking you could wish for. Right here at Irish Fest.

CELTIC CANINES. Setters, Spaniels, Irish Wolfhounds, the native breeds of Ireland. A special exhibit by local breeders.

CHILDREN’S AREA. Lots o’ fun for the kids all in one place! Mini-golf, Pot O’ Gold prizes, tea room, coloring and craft area, Highland Games and interactive and educational displays. Performances include magicians, Irish dancers, music and plays.

PASSPORT TO FUN. Collect special stamps at stops throughout Irish Fest. A fun way to keep the family together and thoroughly entertained. Kids can make crafts, see some dancers, pet a dog, get a few prizes and build a Paddy Pirate Passport with the stamps they get. Always a big hit and back again this year!

LEPRECHAUN VILLAGE. Yes, leprechauns are real. And they’ll be right here at Irish Fest. The Order of the Ancient Leprechauns will be gathering daily just east of the children’s area. Really!
