- 13,5% of the employed population have graduated universities

The indicator of human development in the region was of 0,751.Regional GDP = 11,7% from Romanian GDP(136.673 billions lei)

The investments in productive sector are rising: the media regarding ecquipment investments is good but the extremes are high (in 2002 comparative to 2001 the ecquipment investments in Satu Mare county rised with 156,7%; in the same period Cluj county registered 4,2% and Salaj county – 8,83%.)

Most encountered: Lohn production.

Opportunity: this sector will try to develop its own products under their own label Internal recquest is increasing

Luna Ses-Borsa tourism area development – budget 15.615.324,32 Euro

Modernisation and extension of cleaning station and sewerage sistems of Zalau industrial area – budget: 5.229.413 Euro

Development of heating systems based on biomass in 5 touristic areas “Rumegus 2000”

Main achievements of the North West RDA for the region

Almost 110.450.000 Euro attracted into region, out of which around 43.450.000 Euro for the large scale infrastructure
