THE PAGE BAPTISTOFFICIAL UPDATES OF THE BAPTIST PASSION GENERATION
Greetings and a pleasant day to everyone. Especially to our guest speakers from Okalona Baptist Church, Pastor Scotty Brackin, and his son, Dustine Blake, to our visitors, regular attendees and members! It’s the Lord’s Day, so we should be fully-charged serving Him. God only asks ONE day a week for Him. We have six days for ourselves, only ONE for God. So let’s give our best today, especially in our coming Youth Congress on November 30! It’s only celebrated once a month, so let’s exert some effort to come and help for our preparations. We encourages you to invite your friends, classmates, schoolmates that are 13 above. Our theme is “Mainstream Exposed Generation”, in short, MaXGen. MaXGen is about the influence and pull of the world to the young people today. Mass media, television, Internet, movies influence the way young people think, act, and speak.. even their lifestyles! Christian youth should be a role model to the other young people in the world. Our lights should shine every time, so people would see that we are witnesses for Christ. They should be able to spot the difference from a Christian youth from an ordinary youth. We should stand up and stand firm in our principles and standards, and go against the flow of the world. Let’s not go with the trend, especially if the trend doesn’t please God. Many people follow what are “in”, but what if “in” today is jumping off a cliff? Would you jump off a cliff too? Of course not. That’s why God gave us knowledge to discern bad from the good, and right from the wrong. What is “in” today, may be “out” tomorrow. The flesh is never satisfied. Trends kept on changing, and following trends only frustrates people. Wear the right clothes that please God. It doesn’t matter what your friends or classmates think. What is important is what God thinks. Have the appropriate attitude, especially in church. Be at your best behavior. But not only in church, but also in the world, so that people can see that you are truly a Christian. A witness for Christ. Not only a Sunday Christian. So, what are we waiting for? We should be a living testimony for Christ, so that others can see Christ through us.
F r o m t h e P A S T O R ’ S D E S K Today we welcome a good friend and his son, pastor Scotty
Brackin and his son Dustin Blake. They have been and continuos to
be a blessing to God’s work here. It is a great and thrill to have him
preach to us to today and challenge our youth ministry tomorrow
at our 4th Baptist Passion Generation Conference.
Also, let me remind and admonish everyone to pray
sincerely consider our Thanksgiving Offering Sunday on December 19. Each year we
show our thankfulness to God in our life and family for the whole year. I encourage
you this year to prove the sincerity of our love and thankfulness to the Lord this
year. Considering our present property situation, I ask everyone to pray and be
mindful of our desire to keep our present property and place of worship.
It is a joy to have you today as you allow the Lord to speak and challenge
our hearts through His Word.
