Gospel Mk 4:26-34 Jesus said to the crowds: “This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to sca er seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and through it all the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come.” He said, “To what shall we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use for it? It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the small-est of all the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.” With many such parables he spoke the word to them as they were able to understand it. Without parables he did not speak to them, but to his own disciples he explained everything in pri-vate.

Love & Responsibility Series

The Office of Young Adult Outreach is excited to announce that Love and Responsibility is back at Immaculate Concep on’s Out-door Garden (414 East 14th Street, New York, NY). Summer Tuesdays, from June 22 - August 31, young adults will have the opportunity to hear from speakers on rela onships and other topics relevant to modern men and women everywhere. THIS EVENT IS FREE! RSVP is required at LRNYC2021.Eventbrite.com.

Second Reading 2 Cor 5:6-10 Brothers and sisters: We are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yet we are coura-geous, and we would rather leave the body and go home to the Lord. Therefore, we aspire to please him, whether we are at home or away. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil.

Men's Study Group An open invita on to all men of the parish: The Men's Study Group is meant to nurture our iden ty as Catholic men through prayer, study, discussion, and fraternity. We seek to grow in faith and rela onship with Jesus Christ, and lead one another to Heaven. We plan to study the Blessed Virgin Mary using Sco Hahn's materials "Holy Queen- Mother of God in the Word of God". Weekly, we will discuss select passages in the Bible, and end in prayer. We will meet for six weeks with a hybrid Zoom/on-site model, every Tuesday evening 7:30 to 8:30 star ng. We hope to see you throughout, though we'd s ll love to have you as you are available. Please email Chris Malabanan at [email protected] if you have any ques ons.

First Reading Ez 17:22-24 Thus says the Lord GOD: I, too, will take from the crest of the cedar, from its topmost branches tear off a tender shoot, and plant it on a high and lo y mountain; on the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it. It shall put forth branches and bear fruit, and become a majes c cedar. Birds of every kind shall dwell beneath it, every winged thing in the shade of its boughs. And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, bring low the high tree, li high the lowly tree, wither up the green tree, and make the withered tree bloom. As I, the LORD, have spo-ken, so will I do.

Alleluia R. Alleluia, alleluia. The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower. All who come to him will live forever. R. Alleluia, alleluia.

A Message from Cardinal Dolan

As we embark on this new decade, together in faith, I invite us to remember the mission to which we are all called. It is the task of every genera on to take the faith that we’ve received and share it with others. This is what the Lord calls us to do: to teach, to serve, and to sanc fy the world, by proclaiming the truth and making disciples of all na ons. This work is most effec vely accomplished through the ministry of the Church – in our parishes, our schools, our religious orders, our seminaries, and the many charitable services that are de-signed to respond to the evolving needs of our communi es. This is the work that the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Ap-peal makes possible through your generous dona ons. The works that are represented in the Cardinal’s Appeal make tangible the mission of the Church in our communi es at a

me when – some might say – the world is most in need of such a witness. Please visit cardinalsappeal.org to make your gi . I thank you for your con nued support of the Cardinal’s Annu-al Stewardship Appeal.
