A brief description of the activity / event :
Training and Placement Cell organized an interactive session on “Interview Skills” for giving students on various skills which they should develop and highlight in their resume for increasing their changes of selection. Around 350 Students attended the session. The speaker of the session was Dr. Reshmi Manna, a renowned trainer from ICFAI Business School. She highlighted the right way to present oneself when apply for jobs. She provided the importance of Resume and Cover Letter.
Students were also informed about the type of questions generally asked in the interview like “Introduce yourself” and how to answer them with confidence. Speaker highlighted that candidate he must have the power to direct his interview by answering in a way that will lead to the questions he wants to be asked, which will result in a healthy interview.
Aim or objective of the activity /event :
With an aim to make the students ‘Placement Ready’ Training and Placement Cell organized this
session on “Interview Skills” for Pre-final and Final year students. To give advice to Candidate about
how to present one’s education, experience, accomplishments and achievements and skills in a
competent manner in Resume and also writing effective cover letters.
Whether the objective was met, if so to what extent :
Yes, This session has met its objective to a greater extend. This has not only provided valuable
guidance from Experts working with corporate recruitments but also introduced the students with
the Tools like resume, cover letter as well the digital footprints of a person which plays an integral
role in increasing the value of a person’s profile now a days.

REPORT ON TRAINING SESSION ON INTERVIEWING SKILLS–
31/08/2017
With an aim to make the students ‘Placement Ready’ Training and Placement
Cell organized an InterviewSkills session on August 31st 2017, to enrich the
second and third years. The speaker of the session was Dr Reshmi Manna, a
renowned trainer from ICFAI Business School.
It is impervious for the students to know the right way to present themselves
when they apply for jobs and Resume is the first document that the company
come across followed by the face to face or interview via digital modes. There
is to be an advance and extensive presentation before the candidate walks
through the prospective employer’s doorstep.
The eminent speaker started the session by listing out the five major steps to be
followed by every applicant.
1. Understand and analyse yourself- Candidate must know how to present
one’s education, experience, accomplishments and achievements and skills in a
competent manner. Candidates must do a SWOT Analysis (Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) before applying for the job.
2. Create your personal profile – Tools like resume, cover letter as well the
digital footprints of a person plays an integral role in increasing the value of a
person’s profile.
3. Know your position- One must analyse the job position and description
before applying to make sure that he/she is the right fit for the job.
4. Know the Organization- One must be well- acquainted with the ins and outs
of the organization.
5. Know about the Screening process- To be well prepared get to know about
the screening process or the selection process of the organization. The levels,
document etc required by the organization must be known prior to interview.
Students were also informed about the type of questions generally asked in the

Speaker also said that even though the candidate is the interviewee he must
have the power to direct his interview by answering in a way that will lead to
the questions he wants to be asked, which will result in a healthy interview.
The session was interactive and students ask questions freely.More than 350
students participated in the training session.
