The ABCs Of Life Success

A= ATTITUDE

“Developing and practicing a positive spiritual mental attitude about all facets of your life is essential to success.”

For the person with a negative attitude even small problems are like brick walls. For the person with a positive attitude all but the most serious of problems are like speed bumps.

The ABCs Of Life Success

B = BIBLE

“The law of the ‘life-guide’ is the truth that all the principles for successful living are given us in the supreme classic book for the ages, the Bible.”

It’s only by the Scriptures that one can become perfect and throughly furnished unto all good works.- II Timothy 3:16,17

C = CHOICE

“The greatest power you have is the power of choice; therefore choose well and wisely, for your choices determine your future.”

In the final analysis, each of us individually chooses for ourselves whether or not we’re truly successful.

D = DISCIPLINE

“A disciple of Christ is one that takes upon him or herself certain disciplines, controls, characteristics and qualities of becoming a follower of Christ.”

The more we fight our carnal nature and keep from fulfilling its sinful desires, the weaker its power will be over us.

E = ENTHUSIASM

“Enthusiasm is the exciting, positive, motivational, operation of God in your heart, mind and personality reflected in outward attitudes and actions.”

“Faith-based enthusiasm” comes from God and our faith in Him and His Word. It’s a spiritually-derived enthusiasm rather than emotionally-derived.

F = FAITH

“Faith is a firm belief in God, the Scriptures, and one’s own God-given potential, which results in personally applying that faith to real life situations with the confidence that all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Rather than manifesting the ACTIVE FAITH to apply belief through actions, many wait in PASSIVE FAITH hoping for God to provide them with success and solve their problems.

G= GOALS

“A definite major life goal is the starting point of all personal achievement, which, coupled with an active plan for its attainment, will guarantee positive results and real success.”

While the starting point for all personal achievement is the Lord Himself, the impor- tance of having Holy-Spirit led goals really can’t be overstated.

Page 8: The Biblical ABCs of Life Success

H = HEALTH

“Maintaining good physical health is an important ingredient in personal success and achievement, for without physical strength and vigor to accomplish the tasks of life, creative energy may be slowed.”

Maintaining good physical health literally helps us to bring more glory to God through the increased energy and activity it provides.

I = INITIATIVE

“Personal initiative is the human dynamo that sparks the faculty of imagination and action, which leads to positive accomplishment, moving you toward your major goals in life.”

The Word of God and Holy Spirit spur initiative in the hearts of believers, but we must make the choice to follow through.

J = JOVIALITY

“Joviality is the quality that enjoys good-natured mirth, cheerfulness and clean humor; a trait which prompts laughter and wholesome joy in life, enhancing mental and physical health.”

Being jovial doesn’t mean that one must be especially witty and funny. One can have a merry heart and never crack a single joke. Yet, being jovial is a manifestation of a merry heart.

K- KNOWLEDGE

“Knowledge is power, but to contribute to the attainment of life’s goals, it must be focused on your field of endeavor.”

“The Christian’s #1 field of endeavor is to minister for Christ. Therefore, the main focus of knowledge gain must be on the Lord Himself through His Word. (“Spiritual Knowledge”)

L = LEARNING BY MISTAKES

“Every adversity carries with it the need of an equivalent or greater benefit: therefore adversity can become an advantage, leading through the learning experience to success and prosperity.”

Rather than allowing our mistakes to cause us to quit trying to succeed, we need to learn from them and go forward again.

M = MASTER LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE

“A master leadership alliance is coordination of knowledge and effort in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

“Think of what we can do together!”

N = NO NEGATIVISM

“A positive spiritual attitude must triumph over a negative carnal attitude with its negative emotions, negative actions, negative speech and negative ideas: for only positive people truly succeed in life.”

A person with a negative attitude brings negative to himself and those around him.

O = ORGANIZATION

“Your time, planned, allocated and organized, is a constantly flowing asset, which can earn you money...which also must be allocated and budgeted wisely.”

It’s not only giving obediently which determines God’s blessings on us, it also involves how we use our time.

P- PLEASING PERSONALITY

“Cultivating your mind, attitudes, actions and expressions sincerely to create a favorable impression and impact will enable you to benefit yourself and others by your pleasing personality.”

Do we have the power to change our personalities?

Q = QUESTIONING & THINKING

“The power of thought, the ability to ask ques- tions and seek answers, the skill of accurate thinking, the development of reasoning abilities and the full use of creative imagination make possible wise decisions and successful plans.”

If we have a question, then we should go to the right source for the answer.

R = REST

“When God ordained one day in seven to be the sabbath of rest, at the time of creation, He intended that diligent work should be punctuated with times of rest and relaxation for maximum efficiency.”

“Christians who don’t put the Lord first spend a lot of time spinning their wheels when it comes to work. God is cursing their efforts rather than blessing them.”

S = STICK-TO-IT-IVNESS

“Persons with definite, well-thought out goals and sensible plans can achieve their aims, if they stick with it and don’t quit.”

The Christian should be determined to faith- fully FIGHT and FINISH the good fight of faith for Jesus.

T = TEAMWORK

“For both leaders and followers, teamwork is united, coordinated joint action by a group in which each fulfills a role, as together they work for success.”

Being a part of a true church involves every member laboring. Everyone is to work. Everyone is to do his or her part.

U- USING PRAYER POWER

“Available to you is the marvelous privilege of talking with God; more things are wrought by prayer than the world dreams of.”

Talking with God also includes His talking back to us through His Holy Spirit. No, we won’t hear the audible voice of God, but as we’re praying His Spirit will impress things upon our hearts.

V = VISION

“All great achievements begin in the form of a concise clear image within the mind of what can be.”

A vision can be something we come up with or it can be written out for us, as with the Bible. The best visions are God-given shared visions, where an entire church works together to achieve the same objective.

Page 23: The Biblical ABCs of Life Success

W = WORK

“The time it takes to reach a goal is exactly equivalent to the amount of thought, energy, concentration, organized planning and intelligent work which you invest in the enterprise.”

The lazy person who hopes his or her ship will come in through chance or God’s favor is almost always left sitting at the dock.

Page 24: The Biblical ABCs of Life Success

X = XTRA MILE

“Going the extra mile is rendering more service than that for which you are presently paid, doing more than is expected of you, and going out of your way to help and assist others in their needs.”

Christians should be willing to go the “extra mile” empowered by the love of Christ.

Page 25: The Biblical ABCs of Life Success

Y = YIELDEDNESS

“As you yield, commit and present your body, mind and spirit to God, you will increasingly sense His power and strength flowing and moving through you, as He leads you to success and prosperity.”

Lack of yieldedness to the Lord is the primary cause for how limited we tend to be in min- istering, witnessing and fruitfulness.

Z = ZEAL

“Zeal, which is fervent ardor and enthusiastic devotion to a cause, can also be called a burning desire to achieve a noble goal and thereby to gain fulfillment and acquire the possessions one seeks.”

When some has true zeal to accomplish something, it’s no secret to anyone who has spent much time with him or her.
