Introduction

Lots of English people came to Argentina during the World

War I, because of the bad situation they were suffering

in their countries.They settled close to the

railways.

Sports: Polo

• 1st played at the Hurlingham club

• In 1922 the Argentine Polo Association was founded.

• The Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo has been held annually since 1893 in Buenos Aires.

Sports:Football

• Introduced by Northern England Workers.• Thomas and James Hogg founded the Football

Club in 1867.They were from Yorkshire.• Allumini Athletic Club was founded in 1891

and the Buenos Aires English High School.• The Association Football League (AAFL) was

founded in 1893.• It later became the Asociación del Fútbol

Argentino.• The English influenced club names: All Boys,

Newell’s Old Boys, Racing Club, etc.• Football became our national sport.

The English introduced many dishes in our country, such as:

• Roast meat.

•Fish with potatoes

•Different pies

• Chicken salad

• Pudding

• Children dishes: fish fingers, chips, pizza, toast, beans.

The English brought two different types of architecture:

• Pre- roman style

• Medieval style

• The railways were mainly introduced by them

•Some sports were introduced as hobbies, such

as football•Reading, some computer games and hanging out.

the new religions

Conclusion

The English were able to adapt to our culture, and they also influenced our lifestyle by introducing bilingual schools.

We think that they have influenced our culture in a very positive way.
