Step1:Removemoistureandfoodparticlesfromyouroilviaheat(120–125F)and

filtering.Settletheoilforafewhours,ideallythedaybefore.

Step3:Readyyourrawmaterialandaddtotheprocessor(oilisaddedfirst)

•  1litreofoil

•  200mlofmethanol

•  XgramsofNaOH(Lye)(rememberthisistobedissolvedinyourmethanol

afteryourtitration)

•  GiveyourselfafewhourstoallowcompletedissolutionontheNaOHinthe

methanol.•  Multiplythesebasefigurestothetotalquantityofvegetableoilyouwillbe

using.

Step4:Circulatetheoilinyourprocessorviapump

Step5:Feedthemethoxideviapump slowlyintotheprocessor

•  Watchforgradualchangesinoilviscosity,becominglessthickovertime

•  Youcanadjusttemperaturechangesintheprocessorhere.(131Fmax)

Step6:Withmethoxidecompletelyadded,mixallthecontentsintheprocessorfor

approx.3hours.•  Dosampletestingaka9:1test

Step7:Shutdownprocessorafter3hrsandallowsettletimeof10–12hours

Step8:Draintheglycerinphaseandstoreseparately

Step9:Movecrudebiodieseltothewashtank

Step10:Addthewatertothecrudeglycerinbiodieselslowlyandbeginbubblewash

technique(12hrminimum)

Step11:Drainwaterandbegin2ndwash
